    good to see Scotty.

Was thinking of calling Mark, might have to give him a buzz and see what his plans are.

    I spot a Gnome too!

Ok we need to fill in the blanks here lots of pics but no info :D . Whats the front clip I know thats not a twin I beam :D.

    Rick

  5. Nice pics Scott but it's a 64 F100

Rick it's a front end from a HQ - HZ Holden a local GM product here in Australia, similar to a Camaro front end.

OK we need MORE info here. What powerplant are you planning for it? I assume it's the Ford and auto in the background but I couldn't ID it as your big arse was blocking it!

  7. Swifty, he's already turned it into half a holden with the HQ front end so it'll probably get some boggo 253....Speco valve covers and all! Right Binga?!

Just make sure those brakes work.

Ok cool I knew it wasnt a twin I beam hadnt looked at the cab close enough to see the 61-64 cab mounts instead of the 65-66 ones :D. I really really need to get my danged 62 in the garage and get to work . The cab looks really clean how bad was the rust before .

Cool pics Scotty..... But tell us more... What Powerplant/Transmission will she be running

  12. I didn't really want to start a thread on my latest project, but now that Scott has outed me I'll come clean.
A couple of years ago this 64 F100 was sitting in my good friend Geralds yard and he wanted to sell it so I stepped up to the plate and bought it.

Here it is as I bought it sitting on a later model chassis

It was a little rusty around the roof cap

  13. I bought what I thought was the right chassis for the pickup cab.

And added a chassis graft from a local GM car, similar to a Camaro, to it.

  14. I had to make a new front chassis horn to replace the one that was missing.

And then weld them both on to the chassis graft to hold the front sheet metal up.

Looks like it's all go again Mark.

    Rocky.

  16. I'm trying to get as much done as I can while Gerald is motivated.

    LOL. good luck.

  18. I bought a diff from a locally produced Ford product, XE Falcon, and mounted it.

I forgot if your going low ya gotta notch the chassis

In Australia we didn't get fleetside or stepside rear tubs but I managed to purchase a fleetside tub from a mate of mine that had just brought it in from the U.S.
So it was time to mockup the body to see how everything fitted.

  20. One of the blokes I work with wanted to sell he's F350 and told me it had a 351 Cleveland and auto in it and it was at a price that I couldn't refuse so it came home with me.

So I pulled the motor and auto and welded on some motor mounts to the front end.
To allow the motor to fit I had to use a Bronco style sump and when I fitted it I discovered that the motor was only a 302.
Oh well looks like it will have to do.

    Motor and gearbox mounted

  21. Hahaha I was wondering how long before someone would say this.........:D

  22. To make the rear a little bit lower I moved the front spring hangers up and cut off the top of the hanger.

I found that this lowered the rear almost 1 inch with out weight on it.

Next it was on to body work.
I started by filling all the holes in the tub.

I then used a 3m disc to get the tub back to bare metal.

I then had the bottom of top and bottom of the floor blasted and then I painted it in sealer.

Ok I've had enough for tonight, more tomorrow.

Dangit I dont see any rust other than the drip rails that need to be shaved anyways . Looks like its moving along nicely .

    Rick

  27. Keep the drip rails for the rain. Bugger having a wet truck.

  28. Ok so this is what I did with the drip rails.
First I had the cab blasted all over except for the roof, it was oil canning already and I didn't want to do anymore damage if I could help it.

I then cut out all of the rusted area's around the roof cap.

I then started patching up the effected area's

  29. looks like a fairly tidy effie, not an easy find:rolleyes:. nice work

  30. A mate had a station wagon rusting away in his backyard that had rust free drip rails so I cut them out with some extra sheet metal, so no pics of this operation.
So with a little cutting, welding and grinding the drip rails are replaced.

And after a little bit of etch primer
