Man i wanna get a 55 ford bad, my old man tells me stories of his car he street raced back in the day, 7 inch slicks, 2 fours thunderbird intake on a 312, and a stick!! I will put one together for him if its the last thing i do. He always tells a story of how when route 355 here in MD was two lanes with tar strips every so many feet his slicks would chirp when racing every time he crossed one of those stips!

Might've said this before but the red 55' mainline posted earlier is my cousins car, he has a straight axle setup for it and it's gonna run a 466 BBF with a c6

Here are a few more Y Block '57 Ford's. I called these the "Chev Gobblers." They got that name from being first to the finish line at LADS and Colton.

Speedy Jones, hope you don't mind receiving a compliment from a Tri-Five Chevy owner. Started reading this thread yesterday and found myself really enjoying the pics and posts. As I was nearing page 24 I was wishing there were more pages. Some very tuff cars in this thread you started and hopefully alot more to come. The 55-57 Fords def have "the look".

Hey Creep - Really glad you're enjoying the thread. Speaking for myself, but I'm sure most HAMB gasser lovers would agree - that pretty much any golden-era gasser really gets our blood pumping, and it's very hard to beat the looks of the tri-five Chevys, but it's really surprising how hard it is to find examples of 55-57 Fords. I know there had to be lots of them ripping up the tracks between the late fifties right up to the early 70s, but I've really had to dig to find the pictures I've posted here.

I hope some other HAMBsters can continue to contribute as well - I can never get enough of seeing tri-five Ford gassers.

    Soooooo . . . anyone? Anyone?

hello everyone, just found this thread and thought i would post a couple of my 57 meteor Rideau 500. it was originally raced here in Ontario in the late 60's and early 70's and I recently purchased it after sitting for 30 years. it's currently powered by a 428cj w/c6 auto. I also bought the 427 high riser that was in the car back in the day with the intent of rebuilding it and getting it back in the car.
    Enjoy !

Up to date pics! My car goes in for paint shortly, and like Jeff said, tons of great work completed by Rob.
