You do a great job I hope that i could have old ameracan cars when i was in your age. I had only a DKW when i was 14
Good luck Man !! I was 14 when I got my first car, a 1940 Nash.....now am 67 and still learning... Cool project, so good luck, and keep us posted with pics and updates !!
Thanks! I will as soon as I get out to the shop. Seems like I've been getting home at 8:30 every night.. Still kool! Haha. Thank you! Thank you!! I'll learn as much as I can. I can't wait to get back out there and work on it! I'll try my best to have a couple more pictures tomorrow.
good to see another young guy working on old stuff. I'm 18 now but started building my model a when i was 14 (but i had a lot of help from my dad). and here is a pic of my 53 chevy I did all the paint and body work on in my auto collision class at my high school keep up the good work and soon you'll have a ride that will make all the old geezers jealous
Very cool dude, keep it up. Gotta keep lookin at these threads to give me inspiration to get mine done....
I'm going to try and get a couple pictures when I get home today. Beautiful Model A! Nice paint/body work as well. This site always helps me get inspired!
I was so ready to get back to work on my truck this weekend!! I went out there.. And was out of wire in the welder....
Looks like the more patch panels you do the better they get, that's how we all learn. Bad ass keep it goin. My first truck when I was 14 was 55 chevy.
That's what I like to hear!! Thank you!! My dad had a 55 Chevy that I wanted to build.. But we traded it for some work on the 27.. How expensive/hard would it be to throw a I6 and a Manual tranny in the 48?
throwing an inline 6 and manual should be pretty cheap and easy. itll fit with no problems and you can find one for pretty cheap so all you gotta do is make up some motor and tranny mounts and ur set
Well, you did it Hotrod95. After seeing you get started I went ahead, pulled the trigger, and bought the 49 F1 I've been passing everyday. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=586372 I don't know if I should thank you or blame you. Now, get to work and show me how to fix my truck!
That's what I'm hoping!! Hoping to get some more done on the truck tonight after homework. You'll thank me at first... Then blame me when you get to working on it.. I'll be learning from you if anything, haha! I can't wait to see the progress!! Looks like a big project. But, parts are easy to find! (If you have the money.. )
Closer to finishing the new patch. And going back and doing some finish work on others. Also unfinished. Haha
Great job can't wait to drive it one of these days you gotta get your dad to push it outta the shop so I can start helping ya
My fellow car guys! Meet my special friend ^^^ Thanks Em Someday soon And that sounds great! Gotta get you working on the 48 soon As soon as this rain stops! Haha
Your welcome Mikie an yeah but the rain is great! love the storms here. but dont let your front clip (or what ever you call it) get all wet an rust(;
Get a room, sheesh.......j/k man! On a side note, I should have my welder in the next week or so, cant wait to start doing my own patches as well. Keep it up and more pics.....
Seems like she's into the truck, nothing wrong with a nice looking extra hand never did find a "hot rod girl" myself but I date a "race track girl" for a while. If racing was my addiction, that girl was a walking needle dispenser!
here's a little heads up on installing an I6. If your truck did not come with an I6 youll need to move the radiator forward which is as easy as a few bolt. the holes should already be in the frame. thats how I did it and it worked great. keep up the good work.
Yes, front clip is what it's called. And I won't And yah! They are fun! Kind of like a puzzle that you get to fab up however you want! Can get hard though. A little of both? Nothing wrong with it at all! And I got extremely lucky!! She loves old rides! Thanks for the heads up! Came with a flathead 6. Still need moved forward?
