i can see why people dont wanna associate with that term when you put it like that, i guess with the clubs and people that i run with its a good term and not a curse word! but i will refrain from using it!

  4. Hi to your dad, 1964 was a good year. I confess to many trips to Hermosa and Manhattan Beach from my old stomping grounds in the San Gabriel Valley. If it wasn't the desert it was the beach...

I plan to attend the LA Roadster Show in June with my track roadster, which is almost complete after a 16 year effort. I also plan to visit my buddy and HAMBer 41dave, Dave lives in Adelanto which is about 50 miles east of Quarz Hill on old US 395. When/If I drive up to visit Dave I'll give you a heads up; maybe we can create a HAMB mini-cruze.

Have you ever attended the Walt James Dirt Car Classic at Willow Springs? If not It is an absolute MUST DO and close to. It will blow your mind.

If you want to see my HAMB project thread for the track roadster go to:

I haven't been, but I go by Willow springs almost every weekend! It's a cool place out in the boondocks (rosamond, ca) it's like a 20 min straight shot to Willow from my house. I know my way around southern ca, Adelanto has some cool car events, I usually go to Ventura nationals, ink n iron, Hootenanny, back to the beach, thunder on the lot, more of a Rockabilly kulture type events! But were always lookin for new stuff to cruise too!

Is that a bad thing? I think maybe because I'm a huge fan Frankenstein I take it as a compliment, because that's what my car is, pieces put together to make a monster! Which in different phrasing is the same thing.

Welcome from Down Under. Your Buick is pretty cool no matter what you call it. If you're gonna be at Ink N Iron make sure you say g'day to me and the wife. We're coming over for our first one and can't wait! :)

Welcome from the Bluegrass State and I definatley like the ole Buick!!!
Call it what you like.......they dont like my avatar name either but it is what it is. My car started as a Rat but has gradually became just a plain ole fenderless hotrod in which I have put quite a bit of $$ in but I am not going to change my avatar name..........and yes I agree with most on here some of the Rats are absolute JUNK!!!!
This is a great site that will benefit you in more ways than one...enjoy it

i used to have an 89' van that was spray painted flat black and people referred to it as a R/R. i think it's just a term that has too broad of a catagory so people lump some really nice, mechanically sound "works of art" with peices of shit. I'm sure you've gotten the whole "nice car, when you gunna paint it" from idiots at gas stations more times than you can count-DVZ
