Gold Metalflake, white tuck & roll, purple frame and trimming, 6-53 blown 354 with push-button t/flite. Just as it was back in the early 60's.
Absolutely!! That is the 60s look that I remember. No WWWs on 5 spokes in the 60s. in my area at least.
I think that a lot of these pictures are of cars that were built in the 50s but photographed in the 60s. Your picture says 60s to me.
Is this the roadster with the old lacquer, but the recently redone chassis? Did it used to have large Dave Bell striping on the deck?
Don't remember where I got the pic, maybe from some photos of 72 NSRA nats somewher on the web? I would like to know more about it, I'm an Iowa farm boy myself.
russell1955, you've made my day! Thank you, and consider yourself a very lucky man to have that kind of lineage. My old man drove Datsuns...
it has old lacquer yes. It did have striping on the deck in the 70's but it was not Dave Bell's work, it was Dave Eckel's.
Here is my buddies Deuce. Many should recognize this ride, built in 1964 by a known builder (which I can"t remember who) in I think California. It could of been Pete Chapouris who built it, only cause my buddies father was close friends with Pete, but not sure. Everything up to date has been untouched and all original. This car was in many ads and featured in many mags back in the 60's. Just a beautiful clean rod that if I had the 40K he sold it for (yup he is nuts) I would own it today.
if i uploaded correctly, here are some pics of my brother's 32 coupe from 1963. 332 fe ford w/ 406 3-2's.
Dredged this thread up from the dead...just cuz I love '60's style '32's. Some missing pic's , but whats showing;is some of the good shit!
