I had a bad week, but in a good way, and it's centered around this little coupe. I will reveal more in my next post. Stay tuned....[IMG]

Thought I'd post another one of my "Old Masters" pieces....there have been so many "lost another old Hot Rodder" posts lately....and this is what they are about.....the folks who started it all will be remembered.

I like1940s Tether Cars; especially the Dooling Frog.
The Dooling Frog has chunky, weird lines but is totally cool.
    That's what inspired...
    The Frog Rod.

My bad week began when my back filed a complaint with the pain department. I have three destroyed discs that wreak havoc on me on a daily basis, so I took the opportunity to defend myself with a fist full of vicodin, and all the time in the world to practice my digital stuff.

I've been at war with the digital demon for awhile now. I felt like I needed to get over a bump in the road, so I could continue to progress as an artist. I found inspiration in Dart165's blueprint series awhile back, and thought that it would make a good canvas for me to do some simple stuff. I forced myself to use the proper tools for the job and after many hours, the coupe was born. I was happy with where it was going up to the point when some jackass hit a power pole near my place. I lost power just long enough to have my work go out the window because in my heavily medicated state I forgot to save my work. I learned three important things that day...

    1. save your work.
    2. SAVE YOUR WORK!
    3. There is a limit to how many prescription meds I can take before I can't function...

    Back to the drawing board.

I didn't want to give up, but didn't want to do the same thing again, so I decided to change things up a bit. This was my next attempt. [IMG]

I liked it, but I made a bunch of mistakes, and my heart was still set on doing the coupe again. I popped more Vicodin and set out to fondle my digitalia, and this is what I ended up with...

It's still a work in progress, but I think I made it over that damn bump in the road. I put together a " Process Pictorial" to work on my graphic design skills.

Thanks for putting up with my rant, and hope everyone has a good weekend.

I recently found this old small water color painting I did in 1984 while cleaning up some boxes.

I used a photo of Walt Leeman in Hot Rod magazine as sample...

Cool show so far - so much better than the royal wedding I am being forced to watch here in the UK. Thank goodness for iPad LOL.

My thoughts go out to everyone caught in the storm affected areas of the U.S. I know that sounds lame though compared to the destruction I'm seeing on the news...
