Congrats to the Freund family and helper on having the Takeout T make the Cover of the July Rod & Custom.

I pulled the magazine out of the mailbox a few minutes ago and almost had to stand out at the road and read the story.

I've never been a big fan of T-Buckets but that car looks perfect. Kind of looks as if it was inspired by Freddy Steele's 32 roadster. Beautiful car.

  6. Haha, it's a good thing its a roadster! :D:):D

Anyone who hasn't should see this one up close and personal. If you've been in this hobby/obsession for a long time it will rekindle some memories from the past. Congrats to the owner for the cover.............well deserved.

Yes, this is the car that guys that don't like t-buckets like. Great car is getting great media coverage and so much deserved. A very admirable build, bringing that hot rod style exploding back on to the scene. How about that fab Buick, that is a knockout beauty. This mag is my pick of the big books today. Congrats ~sololobo~

It looks like they got the other cover car right too. That Buick from Australia was one of the best looking customs at the Roadster Show this year.

  23. Very cool! When we did our Part 1 on the Takeout T, we noted that, "This car is so well-done, so right for the time and so downright cool that it’s certain to get significant coverage by the hot rod print media".

Russ and his family have such a love of hot rods that it comes through visibly in the unique excellence of the ones they build.

I love this car, it's nice to see so much effort put into a T, we don't see enough Ts done this way. There's a couple of pages on it in the latest Rolls & Pleats (GNRS pics).

Looking forward to the new Rod & Custom, it always take a little longer for my copy to get to Europe!
