Well here is my Deuce of Spades- turned out OK I think

Its based on the Revell 3W kit, chopped 3 scale inches and parts from a few of Revell's other recent hot rod kits

Alclad on the front brakes, exhaust. Flat white interior







Front brakes are Replicas & Miniatures resin early Ford/Buick drum combo

Turn out very nice, nice color...rod.

 

That blue deuce is sweet.

 

Real hotrods have 3 pedals! I see an auto. trans pan ! Just kidding,nice coupe !

Nice build, Eric! How did you find the Lindberg kit to be, accuracy wise? I bought their '32 Ford Pickup Hot Rod kit and it was so shitty as far as realism and lack of detail I have been weary of buying any of their other kits. The shells seem decent enough, but everything else seemed pretty corny, like they were made to be easily assembled by 10 year olds, not scale and accuracy obsessed hot rodders. Just curious if other kits of theirs are better.

this kit is not great .. it's almost a toy, and no details. not very realistic too. May be, with a little patience you can make a nice model.

Nice work. Where are the rear tires from?

 

No completed models again this week but I made some weathered brake drums for unfinished derelict cars for my unfinished junkyard diorama.
Made 2 sets, one with holes and one with studs. I started out with some HO train wheels again. I drilled starter holes with a tiny bit in a pin vise then finished drilling them out with a .025 bit in my cordless Dremel and inserted pieces of .025 plastic rods in the 2nd set.
Painted them with rust paint, then applied washes of "Rustall" and india ink.

 

Since Lindbergh kits was questioned,here are a few I've done recently.

Great stuff, guys.

I've been messing with a 64 Galaxie. I drilled out the chrome headlights & carved out the center grill section. I hacked up the headlight buckets out of a 59 El Camino kit to fit. I think these were one of the custom options in the kit as well as the tube grill.


Here it is put together.


The car will have the usual shave & a few other subtle custom touches. Tires are from American Satco & the wheels are deep dish wheels that I added a center cap to, made resin copies, & had chrome plated.

If you are asking about the rear tires on the blue 32, they are from some of the older AMT SUV kits (Explorer etc) They are Goodyear Wranglers with the sidewall lettering removed.

I use them because to my eye, they look like dirt track tires
