I have the original body still in original paint (fancy black ;) ), the 33 is still there about 60-70% on the tail,no CA Speed & Sport :( It is on the other Barzda 33 stretched midget at the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing though. Thanks for the response though.

Cherry Park, in Avon, CT was a real neat track. Saw some real good races there - back in the day!

Wish I saw races there! I have seen limited video footage from Danbury but does anyone know of footage from candlelite, cherry park, or west haven?

It's such a shame that track went away. Look at all the cars in the parking lots! I only saw one race on the big track - midgets, maybe 1959 or 60. All the others were on the small one- back in the mid-late 40's.

Hmmm! It was my understanding that when pitting, at Trenton, the driver had to get out of the car if re-fueling. Story went that when Jiggs was leading one of those marathons, he pitted, got out of the car, was downing a soda with his back to the car and Chuck Arnold jumped into it and got pushed off. I asked Ken Brenn abut that and he said it did happen. Surprised to see the driver in the car during the pit stop.

A little clarifiction on a few photos - please:
The photo of the cars coming at us, three wide, says Marshmann is in the # 7. Another photo says he's in the # 19 and shared the win with Jimmy Davies. A third photo shows Jiggs Peters pitting and then going on for the win. Randall, outside the front row - that "Pusher" musta been pretty fast then, huh?
Questions: Who won and who's in the # 19?

Tommy, the Trenton photos arent all the same race. Marshman is in the 19. I know he won the 300 in 1960 with out relief, passed out accepting the trophy overcome by the heat.

Jiggs Peters won a 250 with Chuck Arnold in Brenn's car. Seems to me the Pusher with Bill Randall was 1963, I believe the 7 in the middle was Homyer's Konstant Hot, could have been Marshman but I don;'t have any facts to say for certain. It is Gig Stevens on pole in the Duino 55 ex Sam Traylor midget.

Thanks, "Space" for that info. Still, I'm wondering about Jiggs sitting in the car while getting re-fueled.
The very first date I had with my future wife was a 250 mile midget race at Trenton. Got her in for free, too. Jiggs won it. It rained somewhere close to the 100th lap, and they asked the fans if we wanted to wait it out or come back the following weeek, which would have been three weeks in a row. The fans opted to wait it out, so they did. They let the teams work on the cars - change tires re-fuel etc etc and that's caused a bit of a problem since some cars had already pitted. Jiggs made another pit stop later on, and actually had only one pit stop during actual competition.
Funny, but now some of the ARDC drivers are complaining about putting weight on their cars, since the ARDC has increased the minimum weight, and one suggestion was to add more fuel. That brought about some responses about how hard it is to drive them with more fuel. One wonders what they would have done "back in the day".

A picture of Doc's "coupe" is on my large wall poster "Memories and Dust Dirt Track Racers". The poster is out of print but available on ebay for about $13.
