Got the drive figured out today, cut down the pulleys for the 2 inch belt. Made up some little spacers to line up the tensioner.

Ya Keith, I'm going to change the camshaft only because I can't get a drive snout for this style cam and the machine shop said i wouldn't want to pay what it would cost to have one made. So I'm gonna switch to an old style cam spec'd for a blown-alcohol setup. It has 4 bolt mains a stock steel crank and aftermarket forged rods and pistons,I also changed the headgaskets to some cometic ones. Hopefully she will stay together.

Oh I also made a new fiberglass seat that's a little wider then the old one and had it covered in a aged looking brown pleated material.

Thanks King, I saw the e-mail last night of Bobs rail all finished up. I can't wait to see it in person when it gets home to RI. You did an incredible job, that's a serious amount of work for 5 months nights and weekends. Last time I was at Helgers shop Bob had a folder full of the build pics printed out and everything looked killer.

I can't believe that I just now have found this thread! Been spending lots of time at work and in the shop.I think that you guys that are building these early styled F.E.D.s would make guys like Scotty Fenn real proud! These cars could really take off and get real popular. Best of luck to you, I now have subscribed to this thread and will follow your progress!

My pops wants to wheel this thing this season and he's about 6'2 250 so he needed a little more wiggle room then the other seat had. Bill we gotta get you up to winterport this year so you can make some passes.

thanks 51box. That thing should definately put you in the fast lane. our anglia FC with stock 406 and stock 671 on alky would run in the 8's. weighed 1980 w/ driver. So your 350 and lighter car should definately burn some tires this year!!! I just wish we had more outlaw tracks around here. I would build one in an instant, throw a different engine to get the old timers asking why and the "tuner kids" to go damn here that inline!!!

Sorry for the off shoot. Great car and I KNOW you and your dad will have a blast this year!!!

What's up swampdonkey! This year should be a blast up there, alot of old style rails are gonna be running. We saw rays car last weekend and it came out really good. Hey slick I know you are use to seeing weekly updates but I've had quite a few setbacks. The manifold I bought was warped to hell so I had to get it machined. The new cam finally came and that's in and buttoned back up. Hopefully this weekend I'll get some good progress done. Oh for anyone wondering, this shit gets real expensive real fast haha.
