any info on this top?

 

Not sure who owns that blue car, the picture I posted came from somewhere on here. One of the other roadster top threads likely.

 

When I started reading this thread I thought about Royalshifters T and said to myself if no one posts about it i'll be sure to do so. LO and behold a lot of people think his is the "cat's meyow" (that's a good thing in case you didn't know"). I fact I believe a fad T can not look any better than his.............PERIOD!!!!

Flower made her top from that Speedway kit...cut sliced and massaged to her liking. Our good friend Alan at Conjeo Upholstery stiched up the cover. The top is nice and doesn't flap around or anything at freeway speeds.

A lot depends on how tall you are and how deep the seat has been positioned. A five-foot-six (no taller) person is ideally suited for the limited size of the Model T roadster.

I reckon it is one and the same, because I created it when I got divorced, because did not want to sell my name, Ted Brown Chassis... That high T top will and has traveled many Thousands of miles over the 12 years it was on and never came off during that time, and at some very high speeds along the way... (up to 125 once, but the windshield glass did not want to go that fast) If I would have wanted a low rider, I would have built one from the start... Sure sounds like a lot of jealous people on this forum... But then again, opinions are like assholes, everybody has one.

Hi Ted: Glad to see you over here.

 

Heres my roadster top. It comes apart and stores behind the seats. It uses the roll bar for the back support,there are 2 sockets that the bar drops in.The place it attaches to on the body is along side of the seat backs on the inside,it is a aluminum threaded bung that a knurled knob with a stud screws in to.I think this more of a construction look is what you wanted. Here was my roadster it was tuff getting in and out but it was good for 140 mph and I was out of the sun and I had side curtains when it rained it was well worth it in the cold months

The chopped tops look great but don't drive worth a flip. Can't see out and, like some have said, you have to be a freak'n contortionist to get in and out of the car. You pretty much have to decide if you want a "driving" top or a "looking" top.

I have no problem seeing or getting in my car? I have a door. Those tall tops are for getting in.

 

Roadster1927--Any pics of the inside mounting boss. I'm thinking of inside because I don't like the big hole in the side of the body.

Model A's have a tab that comes up between the body panel and the interior panel. That's how I did mine so the bottom of the top rests on the base of the body opening it worked really good.

 

Photo man I dont know if you consider my top chopped but it is four inches,and getting in is a learned art but not hard, I can see out just fine and it is good to at least 80 mph.Have a great day Gary

 

Royal shifter, you get my vote for best top, now that I've "buttered you up" any chance you've got pictures of the top bows before the fabric went on? thanx in advance , dave
