Anyone else building old dodge/plymouth other mopars?

I believe not. 39 was sort of a 1-year pattern, so I have read. Some suspension & lots of motor interchange between years, but not much sheet metal interchange.

 

Starting to assemble parts for this in the future. I still need a frame.

I've been working on the front brakes on my '53 for a few days now. Talk about different, in theory it seems like a great design. I wonder why it never caught on?

Ofcourse, I haven't driven this car yet...

Not yet (mine's a 63 Newport) but I know where a bunch of older parts cars are (for sale too, not by me tho).

I got mine from a local spring shop but they ordered them from another source. The local place is into heavy trucks. Davenport Spring Co., Davenport, Iowa.

I get my springs from a spring shop locally, they deal in bigger trucks but if you give the dimensions they can usually find them or make them for about $200 or so, I bet there are a lot of shops like that all over.

The 1939 bodies had difference that make them a one off year however they do take the 38 fronts esp the Chryslers and Desotos. If you get into them you find that you need a 1938 workshop manual with a 1939 supplement to make all the info up. 1940 bodies were a different shape in the rear and that was when running boards started to disappear. Mechanically they did not alter much so the interchange was wide open. I'd love to hear from anyone who could add to this. In Mopar world you never say never

1933BOB, I like how you have the fenders on your '33 Plymouth. I mean, when people leave them off I "get it", but it doesn't mean I dig it. To me, the fenders were 60% of those car's sexiness.
Kudos to you for having them on there.
And I like the ruff n tuff of the '34 too. The hood and grill make that car.

anyone know if there is an adapter of any sort to mount an aftermarket wheel on my 48 dodge sedan???? Id be glad to purchase/trade for it if you happen to have one lying around....

Steering wheel adaptor or wheels and tires? The bolt pattern on the wheels is just 4 1/2" like the sixties mopars and the small Ford(mustang).

Most of the body work is done. It should be on the raod in about 6 weeks.

33 Dodge 5 window.

 

I tried an old Grant 500 that hangs on my wall on my 46, and it slipped right on, so I assume there are a lot that should fit. Try newer OEM steering wheels on till one fits, then you can cross reference that if there is no listing for adapters for your car.

If you are talking rims, then all the Ford. Dodge, Rambler and I think Studebaker and even Honda and newer Pontiac and Olds wheels will fit if they have the same spacing. There are more wheels that fit this pattern then anything else it seems.
