Here is my fresh 324 right out of the machine shop. .040 over pistons and .010 crank and mains. Runs great! My 4 door holiday hardtop is getting new floors and will be reunited with this engine soon.:)

  3. hopped up 1956 324 Olds pushed the C/GMR to 162.10 at 2010 Speed Week, didn't break record but we had fun.

This is my 53 Olds Super 88 2 door. It is setup just as it was back in 1955-6 era. 3 Ford Strombergs on stock 303ci. Dual exhuasts. Stick on column. Low gear ratio rearend. Nice sounding pipes. Not the same car as my 52 in the Avatar.

  13. Here's the bottom of my 394, its still on its way down once its a pile of pieces I'll start it back on its way up. Not too purdy unless you're a mechanic. Doubtfull it ever will be very purdy on the outside, its going in a mechanics coupe and it has a hood.
The full list comming soon as I sort it all out but I doubt anyone will be very impressed.

Here's my 1957 J2, 371 Engine display. I actually have a remote start on it and it turns(rotates) ..Crank, pully's, fan, belts...etc. I have an electric motor hidden in the oil pan that runs it.

^ Well.....if a guy was wanting garage art, that's about the all I would want:cool:

  19. Should finish my teardown today. Almost everything looks good so far. I may have a cylinder that's going to be a problem but that's why you tear into one before you bolt in it I guess. :D

But it is going to be a screamer when it hits the street. I got real lucky on this one.

i have a chance to get a '59 394. but how can i tell it from a '59 371 engine? this thread has been amazing! thanks for any info!

  27. Boat loads of torque in low to mid range rpm's that are common for the street.

    With a stock 455 and a turbo 400 I ran a 12.07 at 110 all under 5,200 rpm.

Later with a cam and heads it ran an 11.70 at 123 mph all under 5,600 rpm.

The biggest problem has been traction for the first eight mile in all my runs.

    Does this information help?

  28. Hey Fellas I found this rocket vodeo completely by mistake. But I dig the music and it does have some onteresting Olds motors. Exotic, nothing like we would be posting but interesting anyway.

    Enjoy
