This is what I'd like to replicate on the '31:

Repro units are available but hellishly expensive, so I'll see about fabbing some out of the ball knuckles used on industrial steel balustrading. The wall thickness is more than I'd like but it might just work.

With a little help from a concave reflector behind the bulb and light diffusing lenses, they ought to function quite well.

  14. HMMM, did the same on my 50 Merc Custom about 20 years ago, frenched and reversed them from side to side and put them in upside down (makes it a Y) to represent the 225 horse 312 56 T Bird Y block that was installed in 56.

A friend of mine put six cad lenses in his '60 Impala. He machined an aluminum adapter that screws to the stock bezel, and then sticks out so the cady lens and trim piece slide over it and screws on. I can post up some pics later.

I just replaced my generic plastic tail lights with these today. I found a couple of '62 Imperial housings & used some plastic beehive lenses, since the original lenses we long gone. Actually, they weren't my idea. Turn back to Page 17 in your textbooks & check out the post from "12BAGT." If you don't like them, it's all his fault.

  20. I personally, like them! They look pretty cool, and less likely to get busted off. Thanks for the credit, or blame.... whatever...
