So I had to share my good fortune with you guys... So i'm working today and my fiance calls me up and says she is at a used book store in Orange and that they have a bunch of issues of The Rodders Journal for sale and wants to know if I want any. I tell her to ask how much per issue and how much for the whole box and let me know. They guy behind the counter tells her $2 per issue or $40 for the whole box so she buys the whole thing. I get a call about 30 minutes later and she says she got home and laid them all out- Issue #1 thru Issue #50- EVERY single freakin Issue!!!

I am absolutely elated right now! I have been a subscriber since issue #25 but have always wanted to get my hands on the ones I don't have. I know that issue #1-14 you cant get anymore and go for a pretty penny every now and then. My plan is to check out the ones i've never read, put them in a box and forget about em. Just out of curiosity though, anyone know what a full set would be worth? Haha

Anyways, Long story short, I'm blessed to have a fiance who is always lookin out for me... she's a keeper!

Man, you must live right. I've been adding one at a time when they show up but that is the score of the year reading material wise.

Proof... haha! She said it would take here too long to lay out all 50... I'll let her slide on that one.

As a group could multiply your investment 20 time's over without even trying. Issue's 1-9 seem to go $100 each and up all day. Issue #14 really goes high too. Lucky man!!

In '06 I sold issues 1-8 for $800.00. Bought the hard cover editions and had $400.00 left. The number 14 usually sells for around $100.00.

  23. There is a complete set for sale here in NZ for NZ$2000.00 which is around US$1500.00. I thought the price was tempting.

Back about '03 or '04, I paid $135 for issue #14 on Ebay. That taught me never to let my subscription lapse again! I now have every issue. Just recently got the binders for them when TRJ had a sale on them. The set is like gold to me now. Congrats on your find for so little money! Hope you value your girlfriend like you value the mags!

That seems strange that they would be there in the first place, especially since the most current issues were included in the sale. If she had found just some early ones it wouldnt be so weird. It seems like if the former owner was still buying the current issues they would certainly know the value of the back issues.
