It's beautiful. Great workmanship. My only question is how well the shroud directs the air thru the radiator since the bottom part of the shroud is open--it's not a complete 360º shroud enclosure.

    The rivets are amazing!!!

I can't decide if the rivets make it look more like airplane parts or medieval armor :)

Very clean and nice detail! Is that a dowel used to trim the backside edge?

I am working on my fan assembly and considering adding a shroud as well. How necessary do you all think it is ti have a shroud with a standard fan and open engine bay?I know the shroud helps with suction to draw the heat away from the radiator, so does it make enough difference or will the movement of the fan combined with everything being open air be enough?

    Damn.....

Got any pics from the front or 3/4 view? I'd love to see some other angles that show more of the car.

Tidy piece of work, well done. Not crazy about the rivets but they'll likely look better over time - one of those things that in a few years you'll be glad you did it. I like the roll on the edge closest to the motor, can you post up a detail pic of that?

I like your Shroud,Looks Great and fills a void cleanly,I'm sure it doe's the job cooling too.
I made this one for an Electric Fan in my 33 Ford Vicky by using three pieces of 1/2" ply wood and cutting out the pattern made with tin foil then ,using screws and glue made the Male and Female Dies , 14 Guage aluminum sheet= # 303 H-14 which is very Malleable and often used by custom fabricators.I used a Porta-Power to press out the form then massaged the edges and cut out the ports and mounted the Fan,works great.I had very limited space as I am running a Mustang GT 5.0 w/AOD and my firewall has not been cut,so it's a tight fit.

I could be wrong, but I don't believe that lower opening is very crucial to the shroud's efficiency. I did mine the same way (the top of a metal garbage can..not quite the incredible one made by Deluxe Speed) & I have no overheating issues whatsoever. Besides, if you ever have to remove the shroud for any reason (in my case, anyway) it can be done without have to remove the fan & stuff. In fact, I recent did it in five minutes.

Fleetside66 -- Thanks very much for the comment re: efficiency. Good to know. By the way you did a great job on your shroud and I really like your garbage can enginuity.

Thanks...the nice part is that I'm still using the rest of the garbage can as a garbage can.

The reason it's not a full 360 is the front spring is mounted above the crossmember

Would you say that to him in person? Not cool.

Not my cup of tea either, but I haven't taken the time and effort to post a tech post like he did. If nothing else. I give him credit for putting it out there.
