Hot Rods Chrome/stainless skull for 49 Ford Grill

I'm looking for a chrome or stainless skull to replace the "spinner" in the middle of a 1949 grill. Has anyone any idea where to start looking?

I'm sure I'm not the only person to think of this but I can't find anything suitable so I'm posting here to see if anyone else has done the same thing.

Around here, all the real hepcats have switched to spleens for our shiftknob, air cleaners, and mudflaps.

 

I would look for the cpu housing on decommissioned cyberdine systems model T101 units. There may be a scrapyard in the Cali desert somewhere. Do NOT try and catch one yourself.

i had a bullet on my 50. it was basically a bullet hubcap cut to fit. don't think you'll find anything on here about skulls. you'd either have to make one or find a skull and "chrome" it. unless you use the cheesy autozone skulls.

 

The best time to get skulls is at Holloween. I saw a shoebox from Sweden with one about a year ago on here.

Brass shell casing from an artillery round. The back side with the numbers is cool.
Front side of an armour piercing shell.
Alligator snapping turtle skull casted and polished. If you saw one you would like it.
A small functioning propeller and the red and white whirl from an ME 88.
I'm having an MGD induced brain fart, if I think of more strange shit I'll get back to this, this is the kind of dumb stuff I love, I'll think of this and forget to pay the power bill and the lights will go off.
Oh yeah, you could do a chrome Jack Ass O' lantern face in there.
Any way do something original and cool.

 

Listen brother don't do it for a number of reasons.1.the shoebox has a killer grill as is.it does not need a corn ball skull.2. Your probably too old for that shit.3.it's not cool .4. I had a decent bullet center once & painted it - just for something to do. A buddy saw it & just had to have it.

Decent I guess but I would have never put it in my car.

Try Autozone, they have lots of plastic "chrome" skulls, you could pick up some plastic "chrome" portholes too. If you have any change left you could pick up some spider-web stickers!

i know a real cheap way of doing this. all you have to do is cut off your head, boil it in water untill all the flesh comes off then spray it with some spray on "chrome"........... wait a minute that mite not work. dont worry
