I have a Sata hvlp gravity gun and want to shoot a solid color lacquer, does anybody have a good idea on what tip size works the best, my gun has a 1.3 right now so I'm hoping that will work out ok. I was thinking at least 30 lbs of pressure.

A 1.3 might be a bit small, meaning you may have to spray too slowly to get a good result with lacquer. If you are not spraying too large an area it may be fine. Otherwise a1.5 or 1.6 gives me good results.

  3. I've never done lacquer with a hvlp gun, but would check the lacquer manufacturers application sheet...it'll give you all perimeters needed, tip size, pressure, temp, humidity, etc.

    Hey,

You're gonna thin that lacquer to about 150% arn't you & the smaller tip should work, but a 1.5 would work much better.

That 30 lbs. you're talkin, is that at the gun?

LIKEWISE,, i spray base with 1.3 jmo i think the atomization is better with the 1.3,,10 lbs at the tip and slow up your speed. i use the 1.3 on lacquer that i spray on non automotive product. I thin it 150-200 % sprays great.
