Thanks 47Plym - I'm going to follow up with that owner, see what the history is on that car as well.

Just noticed the canvas...I don't think ours had canvas on it, but still seems promising.

It's not my car but it is my friends.
The push bars are stainless and I checked with my friend and the car was from ohio. The mustang suspension for the most part was stock parts except for the crossmember it was aftermarket. The car changed hands twice once in colorado and now resides in Aurora. I installed a new heidts front suspension in it a few years back, and it now has a 350 ram jet engine and a 2004r trans. I am extremely positive that this was your fathers car. The roof is solid and has a canvas overlay now and I will check to see if it's got ribs under it. as for the interior it has an early version of I believe specialty power window in it, and an over head console with the stereo mounted there. this has GOT to be my car. Would your friend remember "how" he bought it?

I know how he found the car, a rough idea of what happened, and I remember the day it was picked up.

Then finally...do you know who currently owns the car?

The best part of this, is that he doesn't know I'm looking for the car :D

MetallicaMatt you do realize you are one lucky dude to find that car like this.
You owe Ghost28 some huge gratitude. (at least)

I talked to Greg about this thread. and he is also excited to hear more about the car. There are some medical issues that Greg is going through at this time and he is unable to drive or enjoy his coupe. I will get MetalicaMatt and Greg together to discuss the history of the coupe and forward any more info when available.
    Thanks guys

Well, I spilled the beans, I told my dad, I couldn't hold back any longer! I always dreamed I would just have him come over, open my garage door and there sit his car.

But he's excited now. He can't believe it. I gave him some of the details, showed him the pictures. I'll let him think about it for a few days, then ask him again what he thinks, but he is REALLY surprised!

Here is a picture that Matt sent me of the 31 coupe in it's early days when his dad used to drag race it. From what I understand his dad owned it since 1968. I will let Matt fill in the blanks for ya.
