    Thats what I thought...haha.

I like how he ditched the "R" word, and called them "Wild Rods"

I'm sure there were much more quality cars that attended that I would have rather seen featured.

  18. Yes, there was alot of nice traditional rod and customs there! I wish he would have shown more of the show than what he did. But it was still a great thing to have him there filming. It was really cool taking him out in the Checker for the closing to the show!

  19. Just watched it....looks like there were lots of nice cars there....Dennis mostly showed rat rods...but still a cool episode...I'd rather see that then a bunch of muscle cars

Couldn't believe the cars he chose to showcase. Bunk. Except for that Killer Plymouth! There were ALOT of other sweet motators there. Not diss'n-but wow-hard to sit through the whole episode.
I personally don't think it did the show justice.

Chubbie - come on over to the show and you will see the overalls in person baby.

    ha

yeah - you know you can never "edit" what they are gonna wind up putting on the final cut.....
and yeah - I would have chose some different cars - but we did get some needed exposure and I hope that people will know that this is NOT a rat rod show.

You may just wanna check out the entry requirements....
I would suggest that they will segregate the traditional from the art cars.
I did stress to Mr Gage the term Rat Rod was a derogatory to many and he did see my point...........
then Chip gets on there and says "this is my rat rod"

I have already emailed him giving him a hard time!
    ha

    anyway

it is just a term and some think that anything that is old is a rat rod

    example:

    this car
    http://www.hotrod.com/featuredvehicles/hrdp_0911_1930_ford_model_a/index.html

was right by my vendor stand at KC world of Wheels........
this couple kept on saying rat rod this rat rod that.....
I said - can you define rat rod?

and they turned and pointed to that '30 Ford!!!!

I just started laughing and told them the guy that owns that might be a bit put off by calling that a rat rod.........

they wanted to know what it was - it is a HOT ROD!

    ha

well - we all have to educate one at a time.

And if we simply state - Oh - they dont "get it" then how will they ever "get it" if someone does not take the time to educate.

    Little by little

I'm sorry coolstuff didn't think that was you, a lot of people think we are a bunch of hay seed hicks in Iowa, I get it every time i talk to someone from out of state. truth is most of us are not...just say'n

we lined up a group of cars to go to torqufest, people put in for time off at work. after the Gage show one friend said "is that the show? with the shi# rods and the hillbillies?? were not going!" but we will try to make it! my wife is looking for halloween costumes
