That is very nice looking. good job on the proportions. Everything looks very nice and it is nice to see a Ford powered by a Ford (even though I have bowtie roots) still nice to see. keep going.

  9. %100 killin it! ("killin it" pretty much means that he's doing a really top notch job and he's totally in the zone - translated for the older gents :) hahah

It's only a matter of "when" for this beauty making the cover of a hotrod mag! Not that we do it for the publicity and the fame...but hey...lets be honest here....hahah

    Damn...that's hot.

Got me wanting a deuce railed frame for my 29 Coupester again. I was jonesin' for one...then started to think "economically" and thought about going A frame....now you've lured me in once more. Damn you.

Do it!! My perimeter frame came from Gary Maxwell at Blackboard Hot Rods in Bakersfield, CA --- very reasonably priced!

Mark, didn't get any pics with the hood on... Will definitely have to do that the next time I roll it out for pics!

This weekend I completely bolted all of the cowl pieces together (half the bolts were missing), installed new doors and hinges, and got quite aways with fitting the '35 dash.

These photos show part of a '30/'31 closed car dash cap and the '35 dash. I cut the top piece off the dash cap, drilled holes, and bolted it down. The bolts will be replaced with counter-sunk machine screws for a clean finish.

I cut the back mounting flange off of the '35 dash and took a hammer and dolly to the upper arch to get it closer to the Model A cowl radius.

Didn't take any photos during the cutting and welding. Here is the driver's side cut, welded, and cleaned up. It now matches the radius of the A cowl. Need to do the passenger side tomorrow night.

    Thanks guys!

The dash top piece does still need to be trimmed away from the windshield frame. It will end up with about 1/8"-1/4" gap at each end.

Didn't I meet you two years ago at Barris' shop during the GNRS?

  18. Sure! That was me. And if I remember correctly, you did a shop tour together with Denise and other fellow Hambers.

  19. Looking good Nick.I really like the dash, screams HOT ROD everywhere!

Thanks alot guys, I appreciate it! I'm definitely having fun learning some of this stuff along the way.

Tonight I worked on the passenger side of the dash to get it to fit the cowl. Not finished by any means, but closer.

I've been using my dad's old air compressor. I think it's about 20 years old and it finally bit the dust tonight -- started making some bad knocking noises :( Guess it's time to look for a new one.

Please slow down on your build. You are making the rest of us look bad.

Seriously though, it is looking great.

What a great build, glad I finally found it. But, ( add the "I don't like this" , here) why not shorten the front bones so they are not mounted in the best part of the 32 frame? I kept mine outa the 32 reveal and now I wonder if I need more lengh for some reason? Yes I saw that you needed more camber, cause I needed that too. Just need to know if I'm wrong......if so I'm f....oh sh.....PLEASE HELP!

Your build's coming along great! Fast too.. I wonder if there's some kinda record for "Fastest HAMB Build?" :D

You're definitely a candidate for that.
