I have a 28 Model A coupe and don't like the look of the doors overlapping the body. Does anyone have any experience in modifying the doors and openings to fit flush?
    Thanks Jerry

  2. Part of the charm of a Model A, flush fit doors tend to look wrong.

...and remove sun visor and put '32 grille shell and then say it's a deuce, NOT! But everybody can do what they want to do their own car... I saw one '30-'31 tudor with that modification and it looks too "clean" to be model A and hitech....

it was ok for Henry..Im down with that.
besides why make it look like anything it wasnt?

dare i say it looks traditional;)

  8. Aside from making it look like a streetrod, the flush doors would be a major exercise, time that's better spent on other things, IMO.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
And oh yeah, it's the visor and the vertical A pillars that make the "A" cooler looking than the '32.

...plus it makes aligning the doors easier...there's a lot of forgiveness with the overlap.

And not to mention, a model A body (even a reasonably reinforced one) isn't really very rigid. You'd be knocking the paint off those fancy flush-fit edges over every other bump.

Seen a roadster done like that. They then look alot like a glass body then. Then again, it's your car and you should do as you wish.
