I feel the same way. There are few people here who understand my vision. Especially friends and family-wise.

But on here, I know everyone will.

Your '59 is drop-dead gorgeous. Period. And if anyone thinks otherwise, it's because they don't have taste.

This build ranks up there with the best HAMB builds, IMHO.

Very cool. A great looking wagon! Is the engine a 292? I raced a 250 six back in the day.

So somemore updates , I got the chance so spend a lot extra time on the wagon these past couple of days I know it might not seem like I got alot accomplished from the pictures but I did .

So I finished the headers as far as I need to go as for the mock up stage.
I ended up just welding the two muffler together since I'm running the duels exhaust on the driver side also I'm using v band clamps instead of regular flanges and gaskets .

So today again I got a lot done but not a lot of pictures showing progress , latley my focus has been to get the final mock up of everthing on the motor done and hopefully in a few weeks it will be ready to be pull and brought home so that the block can be smooth out at night time.

I had to notched the frame for the other exhaust pipe to go threw so that it didn't hang down below the frame.

And to the clutch arm which is on the pass side ,when engaged it was hitting the floor pan.so somemore things had to be cut up.

That bell housing/clutch out of a truck? Mine was out of a '61. I tried using the stock slave cylinder, but the clutch master that came with my new pedal assy. didn't have enough juice to push it all the way out. I ended up using a jap slave cylinder. Make sure the bore matches on both, whatever you use. ~WX1

  23. My Dad always emphasized, keeping the exhaust above the frame. Shitty exhaust, hanging down under a car, quickly deteriorates the look and overall question of the cars true craftsmanship. Beautiful work, Woody!!!

3 of my favorite threads belong to WOODPECKER", "J.Fishbeck" and "Nads". I'm becoming partial to these '59s..........................Oh yeah, I also like the one started by hemifarris regarding his '59 El Camino. :)

Well here is what I got done today ,since the motor is set back and there not much room to get the valve cover on and off easy, I had to ither remover the water neck housing in the process or cut into the cowl area , and I fugared it would be easyer if I was out on the road to remove the cowl panal.
And make it a bolt in piece
    [IMG]
I also had to space out the water neck 1/2 inch to clear the valve cover
. And after all of that it was finally time for the motor to come out .

Hey Cody, how about a picture or three of that valve cover adaptor you are teasing us with just a corner of? Maybe one of it bolted to the head. Is it bought or made by you? Also, what is that trans? 5 speed? out of what? does it have a lower first gear or overdrive? Also, what starter and flywheel are you using? ~WX1
