WOW,everybody is getting their issue of Car Craft except me!!!! I'm dying here!!!!! Ken;as usual you find some great old pictures!!The wagon will look great rolling into a track with the 64 on the trailer. With diesel so high now it will probably be cheaper to use than the truck!!!That blue wagon looks like a 9 passenger version. Hi Roy,

Your car is an inspiration! I've got a long way to go, but you have set a great target to shoot.

How much tubb'n did you put in the back end?

    Regards, John

I'm working on a "drafting hook". You know, the ones you can put out in front of your truck when you sneak up right behind a semi? Its a long drive to Bakersfield...:D

Good Job, I didnt think of that. Tech inspection in front of woolworths, how cool is that.
That other Comet had to be the Shrewsberry comet.

dscomet;I used an Alston rear frame section that is the same width as the front subframe.I run a 12" wide rear wheel with a 13.5" wide slick and could easily run a 14" wide wheel and larger slick if necessary.Thank You to you and the others on the kind words on the article on my Comet,I got my issue Saturday afternoon. ROY.

  11. I went looking for a Car Craft mag this weekend but could only find last months issue.

My only question for them is why no wheels up money shot?
    Great job otherwise!

Myron;they told me they were going to put in a picture or two from Irwindale as they work with the track photographer,no dice.OH WELL,I'm still happy, they at least covered something besides an LS powered whatever. It kills me that CC,PHR and HR spend so much time on Chevy stuff when they put out a Chevy rag,WTF,!!!!!! Some awesome footage on this video clip. Worth watching Classic 1964. Starts out with some Front engine Dragster in Bakersville, Throw in a Beach party with some of the old racers and ends up at the 1964 Winternationals. At the 12:28 mark there is Ronnie Sox running against Ed Rashinski in the Marauders Comet( didnt even know he was at that race), Dyno Don in the wagon Against the Mystery 790 AFX Comet. And a couple HiRiser 64 Lightweight Galaxies,And a Thuderbolt to boot.

    Cool stuff

Heres a second video. Non Comet related but worth the watch. Saftey Standards in early Racing.

Judd;thanks for posting the videos. The one of mine is from last years Ford show at Sacramento Raceway here in CA.,cool old school track. jsz03;my nephew put his camera up on the dash, fastened to my gauge pack, always fun following a 4X4 that drives through the water and drags it out on the track!! one of my biggest pet peeves....cars and trucks dragging water from the box into the groove...saw you get a bit crooked off the line...gotta love it tho!

jsz03;yes it got a bit crooked off of the line!! I thought I had moved over enough to miss the mess,no harm,no foul, except my 60' time. That was a fun day,a lot of Fords of every style,a long drive though for a one day race[about 9 hours]!! ROY.
