Nah, hanging out with kool car guys is like hanging out with hot chicks, more is always better, but for wholly different reasons.
and the reason you never see me in the pics is because mcphail doesn't own a camera, and I have to take all the pics as well as put all the welds in for him to grind, and a damn find grinder he is, just look at that style, sparks all lined up in one nice orderely row,.......
Better put a hood over that beutiful chromed mane!! Dont want to burn that shit up. Did i mention i love this truck. I miss opening the shop doors and it being the first thing i see. I would just kinda stand infront of it and just look at it and look at the pencil marks they had drawn on it. Gonna be badass!!! And i dig the square headlights Jeff. Im thinking about frenching 6 of them on the 48 just to up 2 on your ass!
Wow, that dash and intrument cluster on top of the w.shield is great. Shifter is cool too, has an old feel to it, and the column drop is great too. I bet the nay sayers are people w/out too much imagination, but also dont seem that so many hate it. I Love it. and the chevy too.
Thanks mick, always a pleasure to have you hang around, and you get IT. sometimes it is hard coming up with new ideas, and thats when dennis and I are throwing things out that it just kinda flows. wait till you see the idea dennis got this weekend for the tailgate and bedsides. Never seen it done before , and its one of those if you didn't know you would never notice, but those are the changes that take alot of time and make a huge statement. stay tuned........for more.........
^^^ Dunno if your serious but ive been really thinkin of using tringular bike type headlights on my 70s style car. They would rule imo.
Triangle headlights would be cool. But if he wants square he needs to find a fiberglass Rolls Royce kit for the front .
I wandered down to see Jeff and check out McPhail's truck, I took a bunch of pics but here's a couple. Here's the hood that's going to be replaced... Thanks to Jeff for letting me hang out and for the BBQ! I can't wait to see the truck again!
I wonder why i always start out with such rough pieces of shit......... and that big cutout on the wheelwell is going to make way for a wonderfully rshapen wheelwell.......
Jeff awsome work man! much respect to you and Dennis!Where were you when they designed the Stude truck? You FIXED UGLY!!!!!! That truck looks BITCHIN!!! Cant wait to se it finished! Dennis your truck is neato too..
Very kool Pics Travis, thanks for posting them. I love how Jeff reshaped the front part of the bed, the imagination is running wild and nothing is impossible.
Mick , You said it Jeff will make it very nice. Amazing things happen when Jeff and Dennis collaborate on a build.
I don't want to knock the thread OT too much but here's a couple of it. Hopefully I'll be able to stop in from time to time and take some pics as the car progresses, Okay, back to that badass truck McPhail, what trans and gears do you have in the truck? I ask because I'm borrowing a 65 truck with the 292 today and she doesn't like to go more than about 45mph.
THERE is a thread on the 41 ford already search under jeff myers, or 41 ford chop, or finkd . you should find all the pics that way.
Below is the link to the '41 Coupe that Jeff is working on. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=501741
I really like the mods on the front part of the bed. this thing is gonna be both wild and subtle. Why changin the hood? Have something wild in mind or simply want it to be smooth. Im not a fan of louvered hoods as theyre too much of a hot rod thing, but i can see them in the overall image of this truck. cant wait for updates!
I liked the louvers when the truck was on a rake and had a 454 in it....... but it's a bitch when it rains....... we got a scoop in the other 'new' hood, but it's gonna be smooth like the rest of the truck.....and the lower part of the grill will change after the roundup.....so will the bumpers....
