to think about taking on something like this? An unfinished t-bucket running a 318/904 combo. I know glass t-buckets aren't in great favor here, but it would be a low-buck way to get a rod for me... and yes, I'm one of those who has more time than $$$ to spend. It's not far away and I've often thought about a t-bucket to get me started with a rod. FWIW, the asking price is $3,500. Would I be crazy to take it on?

The first thing you should ask yourself is, "How tall am I?" Second question.........."Do my knees hurt when they stay bent for a long time?"
Nothing wrong with a T bucket. I don't know the market for them right now but it doesn't look like it would take much to get on the road.
Nah, just thought I'd seen some smack talk about GLASS Ts not tin... Two things I know--I'd have to make something more of a modified out of it, and eventually that 318 would have to go.
Change the wheels and grill shell, drop the front a touch, finish the wiring and drive the snot out of it! T buckets are basically just motorcycles that can't fall off their kickstand.
The 318 is the coolest part. Depending on how close to driveable it is, I'd say that's a pretty good deal, I'd love to get into something like that for that money.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a Mopar guy first and foremost! I can just see eventually wanting more cubes.
It looks like the fun per dollar ratio would be pretty good! Like was said, think you could do better with wheel selection, but that's all a matter of opinion.
Just etched into my brain from the early 80s is a Hemi-powered t-bucket I saw at the Street Rod Nats in Peoria, Illinois. He was frying the tires and getting squirrelly in that thing every time I saw the car.

Nope, just found the ad today... I said it wasn't TOO far away, but it's 5 hours, so it ain't next door. I've got a request in for any additional photos he has.
I'd say if you are just going to use it to cruise around town and Fairgrounds then GO FOR IT. If on the other hand you plan to take a long trip in it all CRUNCHED up then I would PASS. Not being able to stretch your legs out will kill you after a while. My two cents.......
Most likely it would end up a local play toy... I have an OT '70s era muscle car to take on longer old car trips.
