wish i knew about 'em before i bought my crites regular one. i have been making a fiberglass filler off an original metal one, to bolt to mine to fill the space. but one piece sure looks clean.

spooky! i was talking with Crites last week, after someone sent em pics of my comet, about building a ram air and scoop combo, having them ship me a hood and scoop and me sending back the finished product for pattern buck.

Fast Eddie found this one today on the web. First time I've seen it. Kansas City in Sept.

Nothing like the rear view of a 64 taking off.

    George,

SWEET!! Let me know if it comes to pass- I could sure use one of those bitchin' hoods on my '64! I don't have the 'glas skills to graft a bubble on myself without it looking like a Play-doh project gone bad.

The original hood with scoops and bubble was done by Brent after he bought the 64 Dyno Dons AFX Comet 25 years ago.The hood on the red 64 Cyclone in the picture was done by Randy who made the hood. I got this information from my freind Dave who owns the white 65 BFX Cyclone.

Beautiful car, Dominic!! Nice garages as well! Make us all jealous!!

I'm now a bit behind officially on my 5.83's in my Comet. The rearend shop just called me and let me know that my new set of Richmonds (new) are incorrect on the pinion bearing fit. There is two thousandth's runout between the inner bearing surface and the pinion shaft surface. The bearing literally drops right on wihout any effort, which could equate to a spinning bearing. Yea, ya think? Quality control just does not seem like what it used to be.........

Dale;I had that issue before,I had a friend knurl the shaft enough to make the bearing a snug fit.I don't know the exact tolerances but I have put used R and Ps together that you could install the bearing by hand and not had any issues. I agree on the lack of quality control on many items anymore. It seems their outlook is it is cheaper to replace a part than do it right the first time!!! I love the response"it is done on a CNC machine,it has to be right",a machine can only do what it is programed for!!! ROY.

Nice car Dom. What size tire do you have on the back? I noticed you said you did a mini tub. How wide of a tire fits when you cut out, and re-weld the tub in against the frame rail?

ET street slicks 26-10.50 x 15 the mini tub is done with a spring relocation kit from Crites that you bolt and weld in. No wheel house welding you do modify the inner wheel house lips to get even more room. Got a custom cut currie 9 inch rear with 31 spline 389 gears and ford explorer disc brakes.

Dom, I'm pretty partial to Cammers, and I think one would look pretty nice in your car!
My next project is like Mercuryjunkies 65. I think there is just enough room at my place for a SOHC powered 65 Cyclone. I need a 64 as well, too!
