Good Job man keep up the good work!! Do you plan to chop it or customize it in any way?

 

keep up the good work kid. I started when i was 13, my dad bought me a beater 66 mustang, he bought the parts and i did the labor. I replaced everything on that car except for the roof just about.

 

Also, dont buy new parts unless you have to, look for junk yard parts, craiglslist, ebay or make your own parts. You will build it much faster and cheaper and in the long run you will be even more proud of it.

Yes, I plan on making a street legal drivable truck. Then, make it reliable. Then I plan on lowering it, painting it, white walls, and redone interior. A clean, smooth truck.

Okay, it's time to update! Started out by puttin' the front back together.



Then I took the rear apart. Safety first, right?



Then cleaned up the break parts



Then cleaned up the hubs

keep up the great work I wish more young people were interested in real cars instead of those imports.I would love to mentor someone with your passion for old cars but they are few.

You picked a good truck just throw a good motor and trans in it and go.... no paint no chrome no problem thats wat I'm doin with my 47 chev

 

Thanks guys. Here are some more welds from today..

 

Practice practice practice thats what you have to do if you want to be a good welder so far there looking good. But try welding side by side weld on weld overlaping a little bit. Cut you out a piece about the size of a belt buckle weld it and weld it agin once you welded it about three times all the way around you got one nice paper weight.

 

Definitely look into getting a MIG welder.

I'd have to say its a lot easier and cleaner.

 

Just think how wuch farther along you would be on your truck if you did not text so much. My nephew works for me and I finally had to take his phone when he works , so he would work. Now do your school work , stop texting and get that truck going on.

Me and my other buddy hauled that flathead to the scrap yard. Now, it's time to start workin' on the breaks. Got to replace a couple break pads, then get a new master cylinder and lines. Hopefully wont take to long to get done.

 

I need new break pads for the read drum breaks. The guy at the parts store asked if they were 11's or 12's. How would I determine that..?

 

Measure the inside diameter of the drums.
