Slow start to the year. No car, well, no applicable car. So i will wander around and snap the things the catch my eye hole. I shoot 98% of my shots on a 1956 Rolleiflex 2.8f. In short, to get the feeling...why not shoot it with the technology of the time. I only get 12 shots per roll, so when i muff a shot, i feel bad.

Will add things as the year progresses:

Went to the GNRS, to many people to take much of anything.

I will take one of these please

If you have never been, just can not express how many people are there. have to get so close to the cars or you are shooting the back of peoples kneecaps. loads of fun though.

thanks...i broke through the protective barriers, where only the pro's were allowed to tread to sneak that off. the plus of a TLR is that you can easily set it on the deck and shoot...and not have to place my whole carcass down there with the camera.

And congrats on making it into the HAMB Calendar! I love images that move and tell stories.

Very cool shots! I'm stumped on the '36...who's is that? It's tough to tell without seeing an overall shot...definitely not the Mearns or Fisher car because of taillights, wheels, etc. Looks killer from that angle though!

go find an old brownie hawkeye, and 3 x 620 spools. re-roll the 120 fim and go shoot (100 speed works best). you would be surprised how different the world looks while staring down at your feet, through a lense and seeing it all backwards. :D

Rad, the "softness" of those shots looks like the pictures could have been taken 50 years ago. Digital looks too sharp sometimes. I love the idea of doing a year in photos.

Amen! there is something about shooting film that the new cameras just don't have.....I think it's called soul.

fur biscit, you sir have the touch!

  27. It actually wasn't that long ago when everybody was "cool enough" to shoot film. It's really more a matter of patience than being cool, though. Like the OP said, if you muffed a shot you felt a bit bad about it. And that was the motivation to get it right the next time. :D I'd say he's learned his lessons well!

Excellent shots! Do you develop your own? That's what keeps me from shooting with film. I'd love to learn to develop my own stuff.

  30. Film gives me a warm feeling kind of like listening to old Jazz recordings on vinyl through a Tube amplifier...!
