nice truck. what are they asking?

it's hard to price cars for todays economy. here in sunny California I'd try to get a minimum of 5 grand if I were selling. probably more...

the HAMB lowballers club should be here any minute to debate that price.

  7. Is it restored? The exterior paint is darker than the paint under the hood (could be just the photo!) If that's the case, I would be looking for evidence of bondo repairs etc. Awesome looking truck either way!

85 is high, but if it looks as good as it does in pics you will not get it for $4500. depends how bad you want a complete stocker. if you plan to do a lot of upgrades/modifications look elsewhere

the thing is a person really needs to see it in person and drive it to determine a value. that could very well be an $8500.00 truck....

is that 79,000 on the truck or just the motor?

Big back window 55-59's are getting harder to find.I'd say its worth $5000-$5500 if its all the seller says it is in person .Look for rust in the step plates and headlight eyebrows.I have seen lots of these trucks rust out in the roof on the inside also ,so be carefull .It looks like a pretty solid truck in the pics though ...

im sure this wont help much but its worth whatever price you can get the owner to agree to accept that is lower than his asking price. that is if you are not willing to pay his asking price.

Can't tell if it is a short bed or long. The short bed carries a much higher value than the long bed. This is a down economy and cars and trucks are very soft right now. If the owner is anxiuo and you want to buy a short bed, it will depend on how bad you want iot and what your going to do with it ie; street rod it or keep it original. The market for a low mileage original truck is good and you could spend in a range from $2500 to $5000. Be swift in your dealings because there are buyers looking for original low mileage cars and trucks. Also look for original papers such as invoice when purchased and early maintenance records.

    Good luck, Chevyjack

5-7k....just looking at the photos. Would be a great investment because the value for these Fleetsides is climbing.

For comparison here are two local ones. the first one seems to be a tad over priced to me and the second one more than fair for what it is.

This one looks to be a nice project at the price

Those are about normal asking prices around here.

I'd say on a truck like that or any rig that you are planning on buying as a potential project you have look at the work you don't have to do and the parts you don't have to replace in facttoring what they are worth to you. The blue truck has a lot going for it but does seem a bit overpriced. Take a fist full of cash greenies and wave them under his nose and see if he bites. Tire kickers and be backs don't set well with sellers but right now a hand full of 100'S staring you in the face are pretty strong barganing tools to a lot guys.

    That's a LOT high. I'd say you're closer to what it's worth.

  20. probably asking 8500 to get the lower price out of it. if it's as decent as it looks, he'll probably get 5-6500 for it, but with the economy who knows. ask what his bottom line is and bring cash.

i would say 8500 bucks is a fair asking price(up here) if its solid. however, i think i would be comfortable paying 6500-7000 tops.

I don"t know where these trucks in that good of shape are for $4500,definitely not in Florida, shit basket case 6-bangers go for that. If the guy takes less thsn $6500 for it hes hard up for cash.

  24. bbw, fleetside, auto, 283, low mile. If only rust is in fenders, rockers, cab corners I'd give 6500. These trucks getting hard to find in good shape.

Clean and smooth running I would pay between 6500 to 8000 for it and enjoy driving it and not feel poked, nor that I poked them.

In the Notheast, local solid, affordable donors are pretty hard to come by (but if you know of any, let me know!) and if the car/truck still has dry rockers, a rebulidable frame and chassis, its a rare headstart.
Personally, the post-57 grills are not my fave. Tri-five noses are eternal on these trucks, but I see more and more late '50s Chevys that are just plain wicked.
Solid runner up here with 4 headlights would see for about 7 grand.

Seriously though, nice truck! Hope you get a good deal.

MAYBE you should be asking if anybody on the Hamb was the owner of this truck, what THEY WOULD BE ASKING FOR IT.??

Since you're asking, sounds like you don't really want it.....
