  4. Huge fan. I drive a pretty long distance to work (68 miles each way), and his music makes the drive bearable. Just listened to the "Blow by Blow" disc this morning. Great stuff!

And he's a car guy also, which puts him at the top of the list along with Billy Gibbons.

But Beck spotted another in a magazine not long ago — he described it as “a serious, nasty piece of work” — and he’s hot for it. “It’s in bits in someone’s garage (in Pennsylvania),” he said. “For 27 years. It’s an iconic rod that just disappeared. ... This one I’ve got mild hopes about.”

OK,Penn state HAMBers, what rod is Mr Jeff talking about!!?

    Not in my garage !
Yea , Beck has always been a hot rodder and has a very nice collection in his garages as well .
He is one of the few great guitar player that are left from the 60's . Really down to earth guy too .

When I lived in Santa Barbara.Ca. in the 80's he showed up at a Sunday gig at the California Hotel. I was sitting in a window and saw the duece pull up and Seymour Duncan of Seymour Duncan pick ups got out with a dude I didn't recognize and the buzz was quick to id him as Beck. They stayed a very short time and left. I think Seymour was storing his car for him at that time. It was cool! ~sololobo~

  8. I met Jeff Beck in around 2002. Had backstage passes. He did the meet and greet, but was only really interested in talking to the guy he just bought a car off of. My impression was he's more interested in cars than guitars.

I talked to Jeff Beck today in front of Roy Brizio's shop.

He told me he had attended the GNRS and that it was a really good show.

He looked my 36 3 window over pretty good and took a few photos.

I think he wants Roy to build one for him.

He is a good guy and real car guy and very knowledgeable.

Can't wait to see what Roy builds for him.

  11. I was watching for celebs at the show figuring I'd see Billy Gibbons or Jeff Beck but the only guy I saw was Jimmy Vaughn.

I finally got to meet him at this year's GNRS. I had gotten a magazine autographed by leaving it with Roy Brizio, but it was really great to meet him. Yes, he is really down to earth!

Now you're talkin my kinda stuff....I have also been listening to Beck since 66...Over,Under,Sideways,Down!

If you want some good R&R cruising music try, Jeff's Crazy Legs. Also Rock & Roll Party (a tribute to Les Paul) due out on 22 Feb.

You can't ask for more from one performer than him...he has done it all!

I saw him in Plattsburg NY at SUNY auditorium and at the Tower Theater in Philly.

Nice to hear other good words about him!

SCORE....I just bought 2 tickets to see Jeff at Casino Rama in Toronto on 21 April. This will be the third time....I am stoked!:D

  19. Jeff and Brian Setzer where jamming on the Tribute to Les Paul show on PBS. Brian's a car hot rodder too.
    They sure sounded awesome together.

  20. I saw the Jeff Beck Group with Rod Stewart open for Janis Joplin/Big Brother & the Holding Company in 1968.

During the first song Beck had so much feedback they had to stop playing for a minute and get it sorted out...the crowd loved it!

That band was awesome, especially live. There's a great live Jeff Beck Group at the Winterland 1968, concert floating around the internets, Beck was on fire the whole show, HOT ROD GUITAR!!!!!!!

  21. I'm a player (not a great one) and have seen him 4 times. Best show was when he toured with SRV in the early 90's

Got to see Jeff Beck & Clapton at MSG last February...great show. Nice to see Jeff getting the credit he deserves.

I summed up the experience to a friend like this:

Clapton makes you want to practice more...I feel like I can get close with a lot of work.
Beck makes you want to go home and burn your shit...he's from another planet.

"Wired". "Blow by Blow". And most recently, "Live at Ronnie Scott's" are just phenomenal. Every time I watch him play, he blows me away. I've been listening to him for a long time and he never stops pushing himself. Just an amazing guitar player.

The fact that he's a "car guy" and "hot rodder" just proves he's a down to earth, regular guy, too. I'd love to meet him someday.
