[IMG] I built this one in the mid eghties... I was influnced by Sheldon Schmit's 34 Ford BB/A, that was a Popular Hot Rod cover car in 1964. There were no 34 Ford bodies available at the time. I used AMT's 33 Willys body and the blown Dodge from the 29 Roadster kit.

[IMG] I built this one about twenty five years ago. AMT's 32 Ford, in highboy style. The white walls were made by tracing and cutting out adhesive paper labels...They could use a little Westley's wheel bright. The engines was plumbed and wired with thread and clear fishing line.

    Sonny,
what type(s) of glue do you use? This week's stuff is close to making me put my metal junk aside and pick up my plastic junk!

    GREAT stuff this week folks!

  16. Better late than never. Well maybe never would have been better.

Thought I'd add some photos of my Road Warrior inspired diecast Mustang "barn find, bar car, etc". It was inspired by one of my former roomates fastback. His wasn't quite this bad, but he was definately working on getting it there. His philosophy was "at least nobody will want to steal it."
I probably need to remake the antenna. The wire is a bit out of scale. :D
Think I have the "patina" down pretty well though.

  17. I'm right there with you Sonny, that's why I posted old pictures and have so many 1/2 done projects, HA HA!
Love your work, I could look at it all day long.

  18. My 12 year old son Matthew just did the very same treatment to the same kit
I just haven't had time to take pictures of it so I can post it for him. You'll be
surprised at how similarly you guys made them, tho, Matthew's shows less
experience than yours does. It's out of scale but I love the wire hanger antenna
He had said he wanted to do the same thing there too. . Fun stuff!

Guys they are 1/8th scale, as I get older and the eyes get worse the models get bigger!!! For assembly I use Plasti-zap medium CA is like super glue so ya gotta be careful, it takes a couple seconds to set and lasts. Thanks, Sonny

Great stuff guys - some really awesome stuff. My personal favorite this week is the 1957 Chubby JR stock :)

  22. It's actually a Monogram (now Revell) kit called BAD ACTOR, and it's a sedan delivery body. It was just reissued about a year ago. That's as close as this old brain can come to what you're looking for.
