I respect that, but this site is about TRADITIONAL HOT RODS.

 

I swear Ryan plants these periodically just to see if we are paying attention.

 

I agree, there is a time and place for everything. But we need to be more mature about things like this. People should be corrected and taught, not harrased and ran off. Maybe this guy was wantig to build a hauler and needed better advice on how to go about building it and he just worded it wrong.

Send the guy a PM and give him some advice, hold his hand while your at it.

 

could be, but there are a lot of these on here. When i first got on this forum, i was new into building older cars. To be honest i thoght this was a rat rodders forum. Now that i have been on here long enough and can tolerate people on here, i have learned that i dont build nor like rat rods, but i like traditional hot rods. No where does it say, unless i over looked, that this is for traditional hot rods only.

Corrected and taught about what? He is building a dually rat rod...what do you want to teach him? To build it in a traditional manner? To learn how to read the rules and understand the concept behind this site? This whole thing about being nice to everyone only leads to the "pussification" of the world.

yeah, you overlooked it. i thought it was pretty clear.

people can and do get away with some OT threads occasionally. as long as it's not super ridiculous or WAY OT, Ryan typically will let it slide. but yes, this site is for traditional hot rods and customs.

 

I read rules like instructions, i just wing it. Anyways rules are meant to be broken, thats traditional hot rodding.

 

How do you know they're not centered as youre view is at an angle?

Sorry, i just like to push buttons and get my point across.

 

Well some folks around here didn't seem to care for the fact that I'm trying to put a 49 chevy 3100 on top of a 84 Ford F150 with a 300 I6, manual trans and 4 wheel drive. I think the 4 wheel drive part did it, because I've seen cars on here sitting on S10 frames with not so vintage engines pushing them.

I'm not trying to build a R@%, just building a truck with what I had, the F150 was free and it has just a 1 inch longer wheel base than the 3100. It also has a 300 inline 6 so I have more room under the hood now.

The previous owners had cut up my firewall and left front fender to make their SB 350 fit and they ruined the original chassis, so mainly I was looking for a new chassis and just lucked out finding one for free with an engine I liked already in it.

 

Sharpen your "Point" a little more and capitalize "I" ....

No one gives a damn about your shop plumbing.

 

I spent 40 years working for guys that sounded like a bunch of old ladies, thought I got away from them when I retired. Guess not. Time to move on I guess.

 

There's another fine forum called 'The Garage Journal' for stuff like that.

 

Thats just part of working in a shop, and I guess being traditional.
