I usually don't like car front on vans but Nebula pulled it off great. Usually they look like they are just stuck on but with the charger front actually molded in makes it look perfect. I also like how the roof wing is attached. i really like it alot. Would be nice to see more pictures of it especially another front view with the hood closed. Build pictures?

I welder I work with grew up in Canada and him and his brother had a business in the 1970s called Vanscapes. It was a weekend turnaround. It included full shag interior with speakers and bar and a bitchin mural on the side. You get him started on the subject and he doesn't stop. It is too funny. I think he may have christened every one....haha

    more like 42 pages buddy.
That's because the people on this board are the innovative guys in the industry and the trend is moving towards custom vans. It is exactly the same as how everything happened originally.
50's hot rods and customs, then early 60's customs and gassers. Then wild paint and now vans. I don't know why guy's get so worked up about the seventies coming back. It was the last era of traditional hot rods. After the seventies, things took a dark turn and cars were tubbed and painted peach and turquoise with scallops. The seventies were the last era of true hot rodding and we should embrace it as the next natural progression in hot rodding. I'm just curious what's gonna come once the seventies thing is over. I guess it will be time to go back to square one and have another resurgence of traditional rods from the 40's and 50's eras. I'm not saying lets all jump on the next band wagon but at the same time, don't dismiss it as a legitimate custom trend just as valuable as any other era in hot rodding.

  18. ok i just went through all 42 pages and while there are some VERY COOL vans in this thread

i want to know what part of any of this thread is TRADITIONAL?

almost evryone on this site bitches a blue streak over a single question about musclecars or a few pics of them but yet this thread goes on for 42 pages? and has been on here for years?

and ive seen alot of threads where the MODS have removed non-hamb friendly pics of drag cars etc vans werent even in exitance until 61 and there are pics of vans for the late 80's posted in this thread way to practice what you all preach

and before i get the why did you look if you dont like the subject crap

i looked because i like good custom paint work and i figured id see some (which i did)
    and i was BORED

and yes i was born in 1970 and even i being a youngin know the the van-in scene was from the mid to late 70's unofficially starting about 75 which is 11 years AFTER the cutoff date date of this traditonal hot rod site

go on about your business and keep building the cool vans if i found the right one for the right money i would own one also

i used to have a 84 dodge conversion van

but dont bitch at me if i post pics of musclecars from some of the shows i go to

    Relax dude.
I'm not bitching at you at all and I wouldn't be bummed on you posting pics of muscle cars or any other cars for that matter.

The cut off is about mid '60s, but here are exceptions.

The subject of custom vans doesnt come up that often, so it doesnt push a lot of more On Topic Threads down the pages.

There is no shortage of musclecars, so letting threads about them stay would open up the floodgates.

Another Mod might decide differently, but as far as I'm concerned, this Thread can stay.

( as long as it stays focused on early&custom vans...)

If more discussion about this is necessary, please go to the Q & S Forum.

    Edit.

And no, I'm not into vans...

There is only one van I'd like to build, and it looks nothing like any of the ones in this Thread.

Thats me! I was 600+ miles from home. Vanners came out of the wood work to help me. It's something I'll never forget. An amazing group! They are the only reason I made it home that sunday.

You made it to the CofC? Nice. I wanted to go, but it was not in the cards this year.

Thanks for sharing! I don't remember drawing any lines between the "van guys" and the "hot rod guys"...hey, we all worked with the same machinery, cruised together, and had a blast. I went from Super Bee to A-100 to 396 Impala....it's all good!
