i recently purchased a 1969 dodge A100 pnl van with the 225 slant 6/ 3 speed column shift manual. i was wondering if anyone knows a place to buy new linkage bushings or another way to tighten things up. right now it shifts super sloppy and binds when going into 2nd sometimes. i have done many searches and havnt been able to turn up anything.

  4. I had a 1966 A100 many years ago (1982). I was able to buy the linkage bushings at NAPA but Burgender Dodge in Bridgeville, PA also sold the bushings. Check with long time dealer, you might get lucky.

sounds like a good place to start looking. if worse comes to worse i will just make my own out of some derlin or something but it would be allot nicer to find some off the shelf.

  6. Bearing specialists are a good place to get the bronze bushings Chrysler used in the sixties. They are cheap enough to keep some extras as they wear out after a few thousand shifts.

do you happen to have a link to Bearing specialists. i did some Google searching but nothing really turned up. it seems that there should be a kit out there that includes all the bushings. but im just not finding it

Try adjusting all the linkage before all the work to tighten the holes and rods.
Check over at vintage-vans.com, they have links to service manuals to show you how, until you get your own manual (always a good idea!)

AFAIK, no one makes or sells a kit to bush all the shift linkage.
