I am considering painting my 66 Ford longbed a suede blue. Anyone have any pictures they can post for inspiration?
The color of Lurker rich's car is what im thinking about doing on my 52 when the time comes. I like candy blue better but cant afford it or spray it actually.
Blue tinted primer from Napa, basecoat white with a ton of mica in it (napa guy turned his back while we were mixing) been on 3+ yrs, tail gate is starting to fade a tiny bit from where its parked under my breezeway, and it's blistered and black where the exhaust/flames comeout.
The truck was just regular basecoat with PPG flex and flat clear over it. Really easy to use. There are some musts when spraying it. Do a little search and you'll find a lot on it. As far as maintenance? Very little. My truck sits outsides. I washed it once in a while. Sometimes with comet. Otherwise you can just spray it with something like simple green and wipe it down. That pic was taken in about the 3rd year of the paint being on the truck. I have since redone the truck. The paint was fine but it had a dent and too many scratches that needed help. Clark
