Love this build, what a wonderful ride to start with. It is interesting to see guys in the U.S.A. lusting after overseas cars when it is usually the other way around. Very cool project and love the direction it is going. Looks like you cats are having some fun with this project. Rock on brothers. ~sololobo~

 

as promised yesterday,
there is updates on the frame and rear end.

let's start with the rear end
we added an extra piece on the rear end that get bolted on another piece we welded on the rear wishbone

that will help the rear end to endure more twist without breaking at the wishbone connecting point.

the frame extra cross member is finished.

we'll still have to finish the frame tunel for the trans and the trans to frame bolting part.
but that would be for a next time

a home made custom Yoke that few friends helped me to make
one has made the 23 et 6 splines tubes another one machined the 2 raw yokes and the last one welded teh all thing.

I mean part number for the 23 spline Dana 300 input shaft.

I can fabricate the u-joint by myself if i have the 23 spline shaft.

The yoke is not the only thing that is included in that price.

I see a major flaw in his approach already.

Take the time strip and paint the frame while you have it tore down. I like it even though I have stretched cars.

 

That's it? That seems pretty reasonable for something that is actually professionally engineered and machined completely and ready to go. Everything is figured out, broaching, machining, and everything done. The components themselves and raw materials are not cheap, unless a person has some nice hook-ups. And unless a person has a friend that is willing to do all the machining for little or nothing, I would bet at least 70% of the cost is related to machining that is needed. Low quantity machining and broaching is VERY expensive!!! Now add to all that, the time and experience put into the design and trial and error by an experienced builder who's familiar with T5's AND early ford drive trains and I bet the person selling those adapters brings home any REAL profit from that $1K number.

this is awesome man, cool to see the differences between the american and european 32 ford...

 

this steering rod set up will not work, the steering rod will touch the underside of the front cross member on the first hump you drive over ! I experienced it on my french 32 with original i-beam and lowered spring. You have to go under your wishbones to get a proper clearance or remove the rear part of the cross member. In my opinion it will even touch the frame rails...
