New ride.....47 Chevy Fleetmaster BOMBITA !!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by rat bastad, Jan 11, 2011.

  1. Ok so after 6 months of scopin and missing my 57 longroof badly, I came up with this.

Always wanted a deco styled taildragger - I think Im gonna love this car. Have some mild modding plans - nothing radical, but will wait till she gets here.

    Won't be long now.

Wow, I'd love her just the way she is. I have a 47/48 that were redoing. I'd like to find an Areo/fleetline someday.

That is a very nice car, seems a shame to hack it up too much.

Really a cool one! Seems very nice, maybe too nice for some extreme plans!

What a beauty! I wouldn't do anything radical to it, but maybe try to lift the front a little and possibly drop the rear a bit to get more like a taildragger stance. Very nice! :)

  8. KK ....kinda what I had in mind dude.

Well, maybe a Thickstun 2x1 i take and a set of Fentons, dual exh with pencil tips as well.

Can you say BRAAAP BRAAP ?

    That looks awesome sweet ride

  10. I spent a long time looking for the right car that had been redone properly. The previous owner did the job right and it shows. She's highly accesorized as well.

Not planning any radical changes, stance, a possible trans/rearend swap for better drivability and enjoy.

The car came from Nor Cal - Oldies CC in the Bay Area. Runs a rebuilt 216 with a column shifted 3 speed trans.

    Thanx Marco !!

Drewfus, I wonder how tight that H E M I squeeze would be?

    As you know, there's no girth like H E M I girth hahaha !!

  14. I'm so glad you plan to leave all the trim! Inmyarrogentopinion, the trim down the sides speaks volumes about the era this jewel came from.

Congrats! WAY jealous of your new ride.

Did you have many hoops to jump through to get it in the country with the current tightening of imports? With the strong AUD it seems to be great time to do it but I don't think I have the cojones to go through the import process with some of the stories I have heard, but I guess it's in pretty original knick.

You must be counting 47 Chevy Fleetmasters at night waiting for it to land.

  26. Sweet ride! I have a '48 Fleetline Aerosedan. You can't beat the lines on '46 - 48 Chevs. I have been toying with adding a split manifold with dual carbs on my car for awhile. Not sure how much more power this will give me on the ol' 216 though...
