be still my beating heart... about 1:40 into this second video you can see Henry say to Edsel "This ought to shut those fuckers up at Chevrolet"
Pretty cool videos. It would be neat to see what they were saying to each other in the video Ryan posted. I watched a documentary once on WWI footage and trying to figure out who people were on the films and they brought in a lip reader to transcribe what people in the films were saying it would be cool to have that done to this film as well.
Watchin them hell around the bumpy dirt track in the first video was awesome! I love old vides like this.
Great find, Jay. Very sharp, in-focus footage. Love Henry's body language . . . he's The Man (looks like Steve Martin . . . or visa versa). Poor bastards installing that body were feeling the Big Shot heat!
Barring a failing memory, the Henry Ford Museum had (many years ago) the engine assembly only on display. No idea whatever happened to the car seen in the movie.
Very cool videos! That Henry stamped #1 would be worth some serious dinero. I sure wish I had a time machine. I would take one of each model. Even the 4 door sedan looks beautiful in that video.
