Who said they didn't have tubbed and slammed gassers back in the day?

The late great Mike Sorokin...Mike went on to drive the "Surfers" top fuel car. Later on he lost his life in a top fuel crash. His son, Adam, drives some bad ass cars now!

Thank's for the compliment Rocky! Coming from another builder that's mean alot. How many nostalgia drag cars do you have? Your re-creations are flawless!!!! I think the 33-36 Willys was the best looking of all the gassers.

Thank You for the kind words as well...! I really enjoy doing the restorations/recreations.... After selling a couple off about 15 years ago, I have made a promise to myself to try and keep everything I build. I have seven race cars, five run, two still in the building stages. Hopefully, I'll be able to hold on to them! I agree on the 33 Willy's being the best looking! I really like them chopped, but high in the air ones are cool too! I'd like to build a full tail section front engine dragster, I allways thought they were neat too...

    Rocky

p.s. Did you do the build on the Pure Hell car? That car was always one of my favorites!

No way! I assume you're talking about this car.

    Anderton3.jpg Anderton.jpg Anderton2 SR-8-90.jpg

I've been trying to find out more about that car for the last 15 years. These 3 pictures are the only pics I've ever seen of the car. One guy told me it was owned by Bob Anderton, and then I found the middle photo and it looks like it says Anderton and Kirby on the door. I assume the Kirby was Jim Kirby who built the Challenger Willys, along with Lil John Lombardo's Vette roadster, and many other gassers and funny cars. Please tell us more about it. I'd love to see any pictures you can share. Like I said, this one's been a mystery for a long time.

I always loved Ohio George's 33 Willys, but the KS Pittman Willys has to be one of the nicest ever to run the 1/4 mile!

The latest piece to the puzzle I needed to complete my all metal 1933 willys, a grill I picked up off of ebay the other day. Now to send it off to get it rechromed.

I have a 40 Willys Coupe I am working on but have gotten slighty side tracked with 77's . I have a beater 36 Sedan that I am transforming into a Coupe as soon as it gets here ! I've seen some amazing stuff in these threads and now I want to have one too ! If anyone knows of or comes accross any Coupe rear panels I'd be interested !
And I'd also be interested in other 35 / 36 Willys parts too . And shortly I will have a few things to offer !

Here's my 40 http://rides.webshots.com/album/577857903djbAlA it's not quite up to date on here but you get the idea !

Also my buddy has a complete 36 Coupe for sale for $20k if you're interested . No it doesn't run .
