I think that the roadster belonged to Colvin and Douglass from Northern Calif (?)...if so, ran a blown Olds on gas, was featured in HRM...wonder what happened to it?

I suppose EVERYONE viewing this thread knows of the movie "Worlds Fastest Indian" but just in case you don't.....GET IT!
I built a replica of A 1962 Ford Galaxie Starlifter that ran at Bonneville in unlimited Division with a 483 c.i./427 by Fred Lorenzen and Ralph Moody. It set or broke 46 records that year in cluding a 500 mile run at an average speed over 163MPH!!
I am now building a replica of a 1957 Ford Thunderbird "Battlebird" (no pictures for this thread-would appreciate any you have), that ran 160mph and supposed to have broken 200 mph on the Beach. They (2) ran at Bonneville also. One reply mentioned the pointy headlights on some of the cars. I will post two pictures from a 1959 J.C.Whitney catalog I have.
Sorry, won't let me post my pictures for some reason? Will try pictures later.

  11. Here are a few photos of an exact replica of the original Battle Bird.

I think it belonged to Epling and DeYoung, ran injected DeSoto, mid-50's time frame, stripes look like Tommy the Greek, so may have been from NoCal.

One of my favorite photos, imagine the engineering and cash that went into this car, and Cobb is right out front in a lawnchair.
