Rich - Merry New Year to you too. Thanks for posting the picts.

What magazine is this picture printed in. I am interested in the belly tank in the background. That may be the Hersom Bros from what I can see of the tank. This is the first Bonneville, yes?

  6. Sorry Gaters, but many of the photos in my files have been there for years, and I have not clue where I picked them up. Being an Old Fart, I do remember which ones I shot....but maybe not every time!

These are from my office 'puter. Like the previous ones, some are old and some not so much. Photo's 4 thru 10 are from 1938.

Bob died @ age 55 of a heart attack.....not afraid to go 400+ mph, but died because he had an abject fear of doctors, and refused to see one....:(

No, my dad was John Fox but not that one. He was more into driving aircraft carriers at that time.

Can you tell the front from the back? Question #2 I finished using my Plasma cutter 20 minutes ago. When is the smoke alarm going to shut up?

  27. The restoration pictures of the Goldenrod are great. Now that its restored, did they use the original engines that the car had back in the racedays?

I have been meaning to post these pics for quite a while. I walked into my neighborhood coffee shop here in Seattle and I see the Bonneville pic as a screen saver on the computer behind the counter. I ask my friend Evan who works there about the photo and he tells me that it is a pic his uncle took and his father had emailed it to him after they had scanned the old slides. I know the engine was his uncle's, but unsure if it belonged to the car in the other photo or not. Anyway, he sent me the two photos he had and now I will share them with the HAMB.
