Test fired this '54 261 bored out to 280 with twin 2 bbl Carter-Webers on a Edelbrock intake, Buffalo Steve made the 4 hole perches for the carbs. The only way we could test fire this set up was to make the PVC spacers to clear the PO's home-made headers. It ran! Will go in my '49 1/2 ton this spring, need to change the color, thinking grey or period 261 yellow.

Not the prettiest one, but it actually runs pretty well.

I have an issue with my temporary set up. For right now I'm installing my Fenton exhaust mans. for my lake pipes. I'm leaving on the original single intake. I can not figure out how to get the gas pedal throttle rod thingamajig in place so that I can connect it back to the carburetor. Is there a secret squirrel way of getting around the new installment or what. Here are some pics of the puzzle.

.i have a few the first one shows the llinkage bosses ( my motor is a 59) the po used the one under the freeze plug with a real hokey setup -i moved it to the foward one when i went to my current setup -i had to extend the pedal linkage ,it worked great ,you might have to bend the linkage going up to the carb -

Yep! Thats a whole lot better than the thing I just tried. I'm gonna go and play with the pedal linkage to see if I can get it to work that way. I sent that picture you gave to my phone for reference. We'll see if jack this all up too. LOL! I'm on a bit of a time line so this little stuff is becoming the headache. Thanks much sixinarowjoe.

Yes sirrrr! It does help. I did something close to the first pic you posted. I did some rigged stuff to make linkage at the to. I'm not worried about the looks right now. Once I figure out the dual carb deal I'll make it look hotter than a 2 dollar pistol and a hand-me down holster! Yeah! I'll post some pics when I'm done so you can see the madness.

Rigged it up and it works but now it doesn't start! WTF! Turns over but won't fire up. All I smell is gas fumes. Can't figure it out.
