What? the coolest thing I bought at the cedar rapids swap was a lawn mower!!

Hot Rod Shows, Tractor Shows, now Mower Shows....and a Mower cruise...yeah!!

 

Ha....here's the perfect tow vehicle for it ..combination Jazzy scooter/ riding mower!

that's close, same engine though for sure. From what I've been able to find out, Mr Schnacke built the ones like I have in his shed in his back yard...there were several "jet" designs being offered at the time.

The one you pictured is pretty kool lookin, I know somewhere, someone has a stash of these...I need to find a junkyard with a bunch for parts

 

I found this one the other day at the Fall engine swap at Portland the "Haymaker" rotary lawn mower It needs some chrome and penetrating oil

I used to have a lawnmower like that at my cottage it was the backup after my friends smoked the lawnboy um ya oil in the gas boys well that old mower always worked cept the silly thing you could only cut for about 10 mins cause that was how long it took for the bolts holding the gas tank to come loose and the tank would fall off oh well it was mostly sand and weeds anyway memories of old days gone by very cool buy and resto on the atomic mower

 

And all my friends laughed when I bored out a riding mower.......huh!
All my friends wanted their son to have a bicycle that was flaked and pinstriped like my sons bike. Now I see one of the coolest mowers a guy could have. Yep..HAMB is the place to be. Nice find and great job....that turned out awesome!

 

That thing would make a great pit tug!

You know what?

My father in law gave me one like that back when the wife and I got our first lawn.
Everytime I used it, I had to tighten all the bolts again. Up til then I had used the quiet push mowers.
Never want one again, no matter how kool this one looks now.

I am not sure of the make but I can do a little date work.
4" front wheels, scrub brakes and a live axle should put it around late 50's very early 60's a pic of the rear might help .

My old man bought one of these in the late '50's. Totally useless. I used it on Lake Minnetonka ONCE. I doubt it would go even 1 mph wide open. You're in Mound? Maybe this is the one?
