If it weren't for that van barely visible in the background...that picture would be like time travel, as if that sled slid right out of the past. The back lighting does something for the overall feeling as well.

Totally does it for me too.

Here's my 46, a long way from most of the incredible cars on this thread, but it's a driver, no bags, and will someday have shiny paint. I'm on the fence about a slight chop, a three window's proportions could really be destroyed with too much off the roof. I'm also working on a custom grill. Hope you guys like it.

You better change the title to 1948-53 New Old Style Kustoms.

Have you ever looked at the front bumpers of the 1940 Pontiac. They are not 100% identical to the Lincoln units. But perhaps a bit easier to find and possibly not as expensive.

  29. Torchman's green/gold Ford is so cool, love that car. Thread like this are the reason I have parts for three different grilles and three sets of hubcaps. :)

You HAVE TO get some bias-ply tires for your Mercury - lower the car and you are there !

Tires are super IMPORTANT John.I understand you bought new tires already, anyway, buy some Firestones,Good Years or BF Goodrichs.Tires and stance make or break a car.You most definitely will be blown away if you see your Mercury with the right tires. You have so much work done on the car,the transformation is well done. Now make yourself happy and get the RIGHT tire.Please.
