Great work and I like the way your brain works, but there is one REALLY important question I need answered that has been overlooked so far.

    What's the cat's name?

which cat? Harvey Ledbottom (right) and da Bird (left), siblings that came into the shop with my daughters car. I got cats at home and lovem but I didnt realize I needed shop cats till they popped up. They were not even weaned when they arrived, eyes still blue and completely feral.

Now I cant keep them off me.

    Oooops, derailed my own thread...

    Pics of the headliner,

all the interior is done and ready to install, start on that tomorrow! Oughta be quite the adventure.

Still piddling around under the hood too.

My radiator mounts differently than his old one so the support rods were too short.
I was gonna order some longer ones but decided to extend the ones I had.

The rods are stainless and my machinist had the perfect piece of stainless tubing in his scrap pile. Made several welder passes to get something to shape and then repolished the whole mess.

Hopefully have some inner firewall pics tomorrow, all those cute trim pieces installed and am looking foward to having that area done.

Tinman, you have some real skills you should be proud of. Nice work!

Plus shop cats are great, as I have a few, who really earn their keep. I hate mice!

no firewall pics, somewhat snowed in today and got side tracked adding some lights under the hood, and gotta get the wires run before the inner stuff goes in.

also had some fun with headlight install, (this happened a couple days ago but I just remembered the pics)

apparently bondo and one little tack weld werent enough to keep the threaded insert in place.

I'm not gonna show what the repair looks like, its plenty strong and plenty ugly. However, with the headlight in place nobody gonna know its there.

How many of you have sent your letters to santa?
I sent mine off the other day, and I asked for this,,

Woohoooo! I've been staring at the wiring hanging loose and dangling in the way for a while now and was glad to see that part come back from the stitcher.

Nice and clean, easy to work on too! It defiantly needs a pedal or cover for the dimmer switch. Might see if my machinist can whip up something similar to the brake pedal pad. (more billety street rod crap LOL!)

Lights on the firewall are really trippy too. They are brighter than they appear in the pics but you get the idea.

Steering column goes in tomorrow and then I can finish tying up the loose wires and move on to the next part.

I am really glad that someone with as much talent as you saved it from the crusher. Someone else might have built a rat rod out of it :)

The underhood lights look great and will be nice to have when they are needed. Are they simply license plate lights? What did you end up with for a switch (under hood or in passenger compartment)?

not plate light, courtesy lamps for Orielly's, come with isolated ground and 2 wires. Stainless too!

the switch is next to the ignition switch behind the dash. They also come on with the dome lights for the added wow factor.

When you throw the switch they come on without the domes.

  15. Wow nice
    i like good build

  16. Actually Vintiques repackages those and sells em as tag/courtesy lights. Used one on the plate on the Touring!

    Jay,
Like you haven't heard this before, but wow, great craftsmanship, and ideas.
I haven't been following this thread since I first saw it in Aug.
I thought it was a glass car, and I didn't care for the color so much, and then I open this up today to see the whole thread, and I'm blown away. The column drop, dash, window mouldings, etc., etc., are fantastic, but the restraint in the details to not go too far are what does it for me. Great eye, and great work. I have to say I'm off to Walmart today to get those baking pans to resteal your idea of the fan shroud. I'm running a mechanical fan, but think that would look perfect. Again, SUPER job!
    Merry Christmas to All.

It's really too bad that you are so untalented. Imagine what you could do if you had some talent or an imagination.....

You are turning into the "cat lady".

I especially don't like the LED's in the finned aluminum. That wasn't very creative.
