Dad's last ride, during construction and as he left it:

Lumpity cammed 351W made it to the very roughed in, mock-up phase. It was backed by a somewhat rare E100 van 4-speed w/ OD. The '58-59 steering box (with Borgeson joint) helped to clear the modified 5.0 Mustang unequal length shorty headers (copped from my stash :). Master cylinder is an unknown aluminum 2 chamber unit that readied it for a front disc conversion. He tried a 460 swap initially but couldn't get it to sit very comfortably:

Car now lives in Silver Springs, FL. Was purchased by my Dad's childhood good friend (also my Godparents) after his passing. It has been finished there in a drop dead blue and white pearl tutone with the original hubcaps, red steelies and wide whites. Will post "after" pics when I get them scanned. I'd love to be able to visit it one day soon...

Here's mine.... well it's not mine yet, I'm negotiating with my dad for it now, but I am fairly certain that a trade for my 65 2 door wagon plus some cash will get it done.

Yeah, make that trade happen, that's a great looking car, not sure about rust, but the panels look great.

I don't think the OP had '50s Fairlanes in mind, but here's my '56:

Sure. It's a Nissan Altima color from a few years ago; it's called "Mystic Emerald".

Sweet - reminds me of my first car, a lime gold '68 Fairlane with a 302-2V, black vinyl roof, and parchment interior. It was a Grandma special but I loved that car. Took care of the body rust but the frame decided to turn to iron oxide so away the Beast went. :( Someday I'll get another when I have the room to play around with one - still have the grille, dashboard, and a good amount of the trim somewhere. :D

  30. Lookin' good Blades, I just got some new wheels for my '62 also, gotta get 'em powdercoated and then get them mounted, I'm so ready to get these 80's aluminum things off of it.
