Was in the woods today and came across this carin the middle of no where, I'm almost positive its reservoir property...is that considered an abandoned car ? Who would have the rights to it?
If it on the Quabbin, lots of luck with the red tape. That water goes to Boston, right? So it would be their property? I doubt they would let anyone disturb it...making ruts, rain water making run-off etc.
With the engine block in the trunk and none in the engine compartment it was probably someone's parts doner way back when. It still may have a few parts to get another one going though.
If it was on public land, I'd take whatever I could or wanted off it. Did you see anyone else out there looking at it when you were taking pictures?
If you want it, go take it... if anyone questions you, tell em it's yours, you just forgot where it was parked for the last 50 years.
No not the quabbin, there's a road that splits the reservoir and the res. Property. There's not a lot left but would you guys suggest anything to try and take off to save. And I'm being cautious on the subject because I don't want to get bitched at saying its someone property I was asking what's the right thing to do. I figured what better place to ask then the gospel
I would think the DEP would WANT that thing removed. Why would they want a rotting metal car, with all sorts of nastiness in it, near a public water source?
believe it or not, I walked home from there the night I left it because I was too tipsy to drive. Guess I just forgot it until now...you know...work...family...military duty... They key is on top of the left front tire, and there should be about a quarter tank of gas in it. Drive it to my place and I'll buy you some dinner for your trouble. You may have the sixpack of Lucky Lager under the seat. dj
propwash thats so weird dude hb this since you left it there ill drive it back free of charge but all n all ima try and get it out outta there at the worst ill part it out ill show some picks when its done thanks guys
leave only footprints and take only pictures, unless it's an abandoned awesome car,you should check around your area, should have a title "specialist"
unbolt all you can,,quarter everything else and put it back together on an s-10 chassic easyist way too get it back too your place ,,and no one will thing more then your buying parts
What a waste of effort posting that None of that applies to an old car out in the woods. That would apply to an abandoned car in the hood
I'll remember that the next time your wondering around my place Thank god it's not "Goatboy" he'd pee in the water after he moved the car.
Take a gallon of fresh gas and a good battery... I'm almost sure you could drive it outta there. The paint looks like it will buff out..
theres no way anyone owns that thing(or at least remembers being the owner) if i was you id cut it up/take it piece by piece. i have a chick friend who needs some parts for hers actually if you can grab em. need the dash, hood, front seat frame, and window frames.
throw loose parts on the decklid drag them out then roll it on the roof and drag it out ... leave a nice smoothed over trail.. use a team or two of horses and really be "natural " tell people its your xmas tree... take pics even of the arrest maybe mr HOFFA was in there?
looks like the rear bumper needs to be re-chromed not to mention the 20k in body work I'd get it. LOL
