My dad will be driving his custom down from Seattle, WA to the GNRS in January and wanted me to check on here to see if anyone else was driving. His is a 1940 Ford with stock running gear so 80+ MPH is probably not an option. :)

I would love to go on the winter flathead drive with my dad but my schedule with my two young daugthers prohibits that. I will be flying down.

If anyone else is driving, please let me know.

    Thank you.

    His car...

  2. You're dad is my new hero! That's awesome he's planning on driving all the way to So Cal in the dead of winter. Is he doing the drive by himself or is someone planning on going with him?

There's rumors that a fellow Inland Emperors is planning to show at the GNRS. If they do, they'll be heading down in a truck and trailer, and stuck running 65-70mph the whole time in California. As for the route, the weather and road conditions in January will decide which way they go either U.S. 97 through Bend meeting up with I-5 in Weed, CA or through the Columbia Gorge to Portland then straight down I-5. If the rumors turn out to be true. I'll be sure to let you know.

I haven't told my wife yet but we might be driving down in our 65 chevy van. It's like a 3 day trip for us.

Well, this NE Hamber was driving from Cape Cod to AZ with plans to attend the GNRS, when my crankshaft broke on my flathead. I'm loading a new rebuild onto my trailer next month and driving it to AZ. Hopefully, in time to get it insatalled for the show. We had 2004 miles behind us when all hell broke loose. The show's on my bucket list, so all stops are out to make it.

Bringing this back up as we're getting closer.

  22. Hi every one I will be leaving Grants Pass Oregon around 10:00 Pm on Friday of the show. send me line if your want to cruz in line but its 70/75 in California.
I found out the Peterson show is only a few miles away. The 40 is sweet but you need to know they use red rock over Shasta and Sissky sumitt so that is some real harsh shit it gets in every place and hard to get out. were driving a daliy driver.

My dad will be leaving Monday as well(I believe). His plan is to go to Portland via I-5 then head to the coast and drive the rest of the way to LA down the coast.

Which way will you be going? Old car, or modern?

Anyone else have plans to drive from up here?

  27. Swindler Paul Reichlin from Cedardale Upholstery will be heading down Monday in a truck and trailer with Tim Cunha's Westergard 32 aboard. he just finished the interior and top on it. It's f-ing beautiful. He's also picking up a 36 that will be in the show as well.

I'll be leaving Wed in my daily driver for the show.

One more day. I'll try to post the schedule as I know it. My dad will be driving by himself, first to Portland, then cut over to the coast and drive the Oregon and California coast the rest of the way. Seeing as how this is the middle of winter and he will be driving through 3 states to get there with the stock 1940 Ford running gear, anyone in those area's please keep an eye out for him.
