I painted the wheels on my bird turquoise a couple years ago, but now I'm kinda over the color. I need some suggestions for a new color. I want something unusual and old school...in other words...NOT RED

  9. Flake or a heavy metallic on the roof and the wheels! That would look good. Todd

I always liked dark green with black. I guess it depends on the look you're after. I dig your bird though. My girls got a 63 Futura mordoor. Its white with the stock full caps.

  20. A lot of us guys were around when the old school was still in secession and still prefer red wheels regardless if you younger guys approve or not.

I think if you will look around the Hamb there are a large number of cars with red wheels that are not Rat Rods!

BTW,,when you do decide on your wheel color which I'm sure won't be red because of the stigma,,,please paint that valve cover too! HRP

I was going to paint mine black. But my dad changed my mind. He got his first car when he was 12 in '52. He told me red was THE color to go with then, and did so till he could afford wheels. He painted them with a brush. He painted his whitewalls with a brush too. Now thats ol'skool. The cream does look pretty clean.

I was so tired of the black red combo I grabbed a can of blue to see if I would like them. Shot a clear coat over the blue and that was 7 years ago. I get great response with them.

I actually think the turquoise looks nice. If you described a black 4 door Falcon with turquoise wheels to me, it sounds awful, but in reality it looks pretty good. The cream looks too "stock" to me. I could see gold though.
